I'm debating. I joined XBox Live at the beginning of the year and have played around with it a bit. I recently bought some points and was thinking about putting some into Oblivion. With the PS3 version coming out in a few months, will the majority of the expansions that you can buy on the marketplace be included in the PS3 version? If so, will that force Microsoft's hand to make the expansions free? I'd hate to pick up a bunch of the expansions and then have them be free in a few months.

Do you have a PS3 already? If not, then you're comparing about $20 of Oblivion add-ons versus a $600 PS3. Also, there's a new large Oblivion expansion coming out, and I don't know if it will be available on the PS3.

For the PS3 owners, the following is what you may be able to expect from Oblivion.
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/762/762882p1.html It appears that the only expansion that will be added to the PS3 version is Knights of the Nine. It doesn't look like the others will be included in the PS3 version. I'm hoping that they will make the Knights of the Nine available for free in the XBox Live Marketplace when the PS3 launches. In the meantime, if you buy the XBOX Magazine both Thieves Den and the Wizards Tower are included on the demo disc for free. |

For all Oblivion expansions, it will be released on the Xbox 360 first.
A major expansion for Oblivion will be released for the Xbox 360 next month. The expansion is called Shivering Isles, and will add 30 hours of gameplay. No word on whether it will be released on the PS3, but even if they do a PS3 release, it will be several months down the road. |

I just found out the Shivering Isles expansion will allow you to obtain 250 more achievement points! So, that means you can get a total of 1,250 points with Oblivion. Oblivion will be the first game ever to be able to get more than 1,000 achievement points.

I just came across a presell for the Shivering Isles. It looks like its going to cost XBox Live people 2,400 points. The PC version is preselling for $30. It cost $20 for 1,600 Microsoft points so I'm guessing it will be 2,400 points.
