Re: 3D Terrain Stl Files
Very cool.
I have to try these out. A cloud can change its semblance, yet retain its will With the intimacy of destruction, One knows what it is to be alive The empty sky holds no reflection, for sorrow - Eslo Rudkey |

Re: 3D Terrain Stl Files
Awesome! I'll have to post my 5 hex bridge walkway so you can make an ice bridge.
I wonder how the parts will look painted. Did you print without support material? |

Re: 3D Terrain Stl Files
Do use rolls of plastic filament for your printer?
If so, where did you get the transparent blue? I think that is too big for my printer. I believe it can only handle two hexes at a time. Perhaps it could be split in half? I think that would work. Has anyone tried to print hexes that sit on top instead of interlocking (like the Evergreen Trees)? Re: 3D Terrain Stl Files
They are pretty cheap to print, just a few grams (21g for the beta) and at $15.65 per kg it's no big deal. I would consider these Alpha prints, I need some supports under the vertical wall and I will do that in the next round tonight. Without the supports the free areas at the base are a bit messy.
The guy I buy filament from have a rainbow of colors and transparencies, I do live in Asia so there is that. |

Re: 3D Terrain Stl Files
I printed 2 of them yesterday in transparent PLA. Now I'm planning to play a TT +TttFF map in all it's icy glory.
I'll post pictures Edit: the photos Last edited by MementoMori; April 16th, 2016 at 12:34 PM. |

Re: 3D Terrain Stl Files
I printed these with translucent PLA, 0.1mm layers. Then washed them with greenish-blue paints and finally some white spray (citadel primer) straight from top.
Next up a lava bridge! Great work White Knight! and that was fast and cool Teazia, so fast indeed that I posted my previous answer without realizing that the thread had grown so fast. |
