Nova - Sam Alexander

NAME = NOVA SECRET IDENTY = SAM ALEXANDER SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = CRIME FIGHTER PERSONALITY = BRASH LIFE = 4 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 5 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 150-170 RECKLESS ACTION 16 Whenever you reveal a numbered Order Marker on any other Army Card you control, before using any other special powers, you must immediately roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 16 or higher, you must take an immediate turn with Nova, and you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control. When using Reckless Action 16, add 1 die to Nova's normal attack and subtract 1 die from his defense until the start of your next turn. CRASH COLLISION 14 After moving with his Flying special power if Nova is engaged with one or more figures or destructible objects and he began the move at least 4 spaces away from that figure or destructible object he may choose Crash Collision 14. If he chooses to Crash Collision 14, Nova must immediately roll the 20-sided die once for each figure or destructible object he engaged. If you roll 14 or higher, that figure or destructible object receives one wound. If Nova moved using his Sonic Flying special power, figures and destructible objects receive one additional wound. SONIC FLYING When using the Flying special power, Nova may add 3 to his Move number. If he does, he cannot attack this turn. FLYING SUPER STRENGTH - Maybe????

Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

The way that I see this option is that you can fly in and maybe cause a wound and then get to attack....or you Sonic Fly in and have greater chance of causing a wound but then can't attack...seems like the option of Sonic Fly first would be less damaging on average? Quote:

Playing off of Spidey's idea:
Blast Flying 15 Before moving with his Flying special power, Nova may add 3 to his move. After moving with his Flying special power if Nova is engaged with one or more figures or destructible objects and he began the move at least 4 spaces away from that figure or destructible object he may choose Crash Collision 14. Well, there is also the fact that Sonic Flying (since it has no number in the Power title) is restricted to 3 spaces extra. Blast Flying could be more spaces and allow options. Think about combining Hawk Swoop and Sonic Flying. I'll see if I can work something up.

How's this look? (I went with a qualifying power in Blast Flying and tweaked Crash Landing to be similar to Hawk Swoop.)

NAME = CAPTAIN MARVEL
SECRET IDENTITY = Carol Danvers SPECIES = Mutate UNIQUENESS = Unique Hero CLASS = Avenger PERSONALITY = Fearless SIZE/HEIGHT = Medium 5 LIFE = 5 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 5 ATTACK = 6 DEFENSE = 6 POINTS = ? AVENGER COORDINATION At the start of the game, you may choose one other Unique Hero you control. Place a white Avenger Marker on that figure's Army Card and on this card. An opponent may never remove Order Markers from a card you control if there is an Avenger Marker on that card. HYPERSONIC FLYING When using the Flying special power, Captain Marvel may add 5 to her Move number. If she does, she will not take any leaving engagement attacks and cannot attack this turn. THE BEST DEFENSE When defending against a normal attack from a figure within 5 clear sight spaces, if Captain Marvel rolls more skulls than the attacking figure, the attacking figure receives one wound. EDIT: I was still tinkering with this when I hit the Post button instead of the Preview one. Whoops. It's out there now, so I suppose I'm open to critique. Shooting for a version of Carol more representative of her current portrayal as Captain Marvel. The Best Defense is a must, but I'm debating dropping the Avenger synergy and maybe beefing her up a little bit/giving her another Flying/movement-related ability. I definitely want her to hit at least the 350-point benchmark set by her Ms. Marvel incarnation, but she might not be there now (Ms. Marvel's bonding is killer). As a note, Carol's joined up with the Guardians of the Galaxy in this incarnation; I'd like her to be Star-Lord compatible, so Leader is right out as a class.
