Re: The Book of Speed - Danger Room Testing
- Theme Test - Inconclusive, seeing as I don’t know the character, but nothing felt wrong
- Mirror Test - Pass - Bonding Test - Pass - Mutant synergy is no issue, and due to Reluctant Avenger being his big thing, he’s unlikely to be in any X-Men, Brotherhood or Horseman builds anyway - a Mutant sidekick could be nice for him but it’s nothing massive. Apart from that, he has attack bonding with Kate, which, again, is fun and useful, but nothing scary. - Synergies Test - Pass - Reluctant Avenger is a fun little bonus to a Young Avenger build. I am going to ask, though - ever consider expanding it to figures with Avengers Markers as well as Rookies? Would make army builds for him more versatile, and it feels a little weird to me for a power with the word Avenger in it not to reference AMs, but maybe that's just me, as I said, I don't know this guy. - Power Check - Pass - Fun Test - Pass - Fun Competitive Test - Pass - Drafting Test - Pass, though only in a Rookie build. - Usage Test - Pass - Molecular Destabilisation is niche, but nice if you see opponents' next to a weak DO, the enemy has clustered squaddies, or even if a mortally wounded hero can be picked off while next to an ally. I doubt I'd use it much, but if the opportunity comes up, it'll be pretty damn nice. - Strategy Test - Pass - Reluctant Avenger makes him a good reserve force, and Molecular Destabilistaion has its strategic uses as I mentioned. Also, you’ll want to make as much use of him as you can while he’s stepping in for someone - he’s better doing that than when you activate him normally, which is pretty interesting. Name Of The Playtest Unit: Speed Army Test 1 Map: Invasion (no glyphs) Armies: Speed, Stature, Noh-Varr, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), Jubilee (790 points) vs. Doctor Octopus, Parasite, Trapster, 2x LexCorp Security (790 points)
Spoiler Alert!
Army Test 2 Map: Invasion (No Glyphs) Armies; Captain America (C3G), Speed, Noh-Varr, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), Hawkeye (Clint Barton) (vII), Stature, Bucky (1,190 points) vs. Professor X, Storm, Beast, Wolverine, Firestar, Angel (Warren Worthington III), Toad (1,195 points)
Spoiler Alert!
Thoughts On The Tested Unit's Cost, Balance, & Draftibility: I think I’ve said everything I have to say. I’ll be honest, I’m not really excited about this guy, but he’s a nice little addition to a faction which should, if Kate and Noh-Varr are any indication, be a blast to play. |

Re: The Book of Speed - Danger Room Testing
Yeah, Speed didn't set the world on fire for me, either, but he's a pretty solid little addition to the faction bud. He'll be a good workhorse when the faction is a little more robust.
Speed's never been associated with the actual Avengers (most of the Young Avengers haven't), so I don't think an Avenger Marker tie-in would really work for him. |

Re: The Book of Speed - Danger Room Testing
Thanks for the tests, LO! I'd be open to tweaking him to make him a little more exciting, but I also think he fits well the role I want for him. He should be a decent pick but nothing too major, just enough to help pull the faction together more.
Still looking for another test or two here! ".... the Cambridge ladies do not care, above Cambridge if sometimes in its box of sky lavender and cornerless, the moon rattles like a fragment of angry candy" |

C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Speed Army Test Map: Custom Units: Speed @170, Stature, Hawkeye (II), Noh-Varr (750) vs Scandal Savage, Catman, Bane, Black Alice (750)
Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ Army Test Map: Custom Units: Speed @160, Stature, Hawkeye (Kate), Noh-Varr, Captain America (C3G), Rover (1120) vs Nightwing, Raven, Starfire, Red Robin, Superboy (Kon-El), Jesse Quick (1120)
Spoiler Alert!
GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Ran a couple more games, since we're a little short on testers. Like LO, I think he could easily get a soft bump down to 160. His value will go up as more Rookies come out, but he can be a little finicky to use. |

@TrollBrute
Anything specific you're still looking to see tested for Speed? Personally, I'd be fine moving him forward at 160-170 at this point. |

Re: The Book of Speed - Danger Room Testing
Sorry! Keep meaning to respond here but I was on vacation and have been busy for a while lately. I agree on bringing the cost down to 160. Was kinda hoping for a third tester, but because he's part of a faction that will see more testing, if everyone is good with 160, I'm okay moving him forward.
