- Give a brief overview. This was a super brutal match but that had more to do with Frank and Wendigo and Zombie Spidey being beasts. Came down to Joker vs a 1 life Metamorpho and joker basically frolicked his way up the battlefield and then took him out with a Die Laughing.

In T2 Spidey Swings up as Katana and Geo advance; Frank advances. In T3 Spidey swings up as Metamorpho moves up and would blast Frank for 3 wounds but he shrugs off 2 and Geo flies up causing some bedrock to raise taking out a Bush, a Palm, and giving Wendigo and Frank each a wound and then blasts Spidey for 3 wounds but he shrugs 2 of them off and then swings up and bites Geo and heals; Frank moves up and engages Geo but is blocked and Wendigo engages Geo and takes him out healing and then engages Batman disengaging from Lightning in the process and swipes Batman for 3 wounds (whiff despite mission prep & chain lightning)!.

In T1 Frank engages Katana and Metamorpho and takes a wound from her Iajutsu Strike and Wendigo is blocked by Batman; Spidey swings up and bites Batman out of the game OM on Batman. In T2 Frank misses Katana and Wendigo engages Lightning; Spidey swings over and bites Katana who slashes him for a wound. In T3 Frank takes a wound from Katana's Iajutsu Strike and Wendigo slashes Lightning for 3 wounds; Spidey swings around and bites Katana for another wound and Metamorpho shifts thrice and finishes off Frank.

- Give a brief overview. This was one of the scariest and most brutal matches I have played with the Dark Judges. Joker moving up in R1 and softening almost all of the other team by 2 wounds was clutch here I feel.

Avengers have initiative (15). Ronin advances 5 spaces, Cap advances 6 spaces, and Fist advances 4 spaces. In T1 Moon and Luke advance; Joker advances. In T2 Fist and Luke move up; Joker engages Fist. In T3 Moonknight advances giving Joker 4 wounds (5/5 skulls vs whiff) and Luke steps into the water hitting Joker for 2 wounds but he shrugs 1 off; Joker Gives Luke, Marc, Fist, and Cap 2 wounds each with Die Laughing. The Dark Judges Teleport in.

Dark Judges have initiative. Cap moves up 1 space and Ronin moves up 1 space (3). In T1 Death engages and gives Luke another wound; Ronin takes out Joker with a well placed Arrow Strike (2/2 skulls vs whiff) and leaps into the space where Joker had been but his Nunchaku are blocked by Death and Mortis. In T2 Fire and Fear reposition and Mortis gives Ronin a wound with his Decaying Touch and gives him 2 more wounds and then Sydney sentences him to Death but is blocked; Ronin misses Sydney and Mortis with his Nunchaku and leaps up next to Mortis but is blocked and Luke climbs outr of the water. In T3 Fear and Fire reposition and Mortis gives Luke a wound with his Decaying Touch and Sydney sentences him to Death finishing him off and activating Fear who engages Fist giving him 2 wounds; OM on Luke.

Dark Judges have initiative. Cap disengages fire to engage Sydney and Fear (14). In T1 Sydney disengages Cap engaging Ronin Sentencing him to Death finishing him off and activating Fire who engages Moonknight, Fist, and Cap and finishes off Fist; OM on Ronin. In T2 Fear, Mortis, and Fire reposition with Fire burning Cap and Marc and Mortis whiffs; OM on Fist. In T3 Mortis, Sydney, and Fire repositon with Fire trying to burn Cap but he was prepared this time and wounds Fire and Mortis tries to Decay Cap but ends up taking a wound and then takes another because of the attack and Sydney sentences Cap to Death but misses him; Marc vanishes with Frenchie.

Heroes for Hire have initiative. In T1 Cap misses Mortis and bounds away; Sydney engages Cap and Sentences him to Death finishing him off for the win.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? The Dark Judges won with Mortis bearing 2/5 wounds, Fire bearing 1/5 wounds, and Death and Fear unwounded.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: He's neat. Durable enough and has a brutal special that isn't too difficult to setup. 200-220 seems to be about his worth to me. Difficult to say for certain as his OM saving power never popped for me.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: He's good as either clean up or opening offense. I really enjoyed how he made the Dark Judges a much bigger threat. He has a lot of offense potential but not a ton of staying power, though it is nice that he doesn't care about LEAs which makes him a prime target for Purge the Sinners movements for repositioning. I'd almost lean cutting the OM/figure saving as it doesn't 100% feel necessary and it never came up for me in either game and he still felt worth his points to me.

Considering that the figure save really only works for Judge Death and there really is no reason to kill Death until late game it probably will almost never come up but is nice just in case.

Game Summary: Here, the Judges were able to Teleport in surrounding the X-Men and then use Fire’s ability to engage the ranged threats while attempting to target Professor X, and due to Joker’s AOE and the Judges’ general tankiness, the battle was uphill from the start. Beast seemed to be the only character that could overcome most of the Judges' defenses, but he rarely rolled well whilst the Judges lost Fire early enough that they struggled against the X-Men’s action economy towards the end. After this game, it felt like Joker is probably about right on his defenses, though guaranteeing one wound reduction might be too strong against armies that don’t have an average attack above four.

TrueX.S.E.'s THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
The Judges aren’t the most straightforward team to play, with several abilities checking off of similar or the same actions, and I feel I may have misplayed here or there, but the team is solid as long as they can play aggressive and focus key targets quickly regardless. Joker adds to that strength, discouraging turtling in a group lest he sneaks damage across the opposing army. I have a hard time saying whether any number needs tweaking in particular, as in most of my games, he threatened mostly with his presence rather than his actual actions. As for draftability he seems like a great fit into aggressive undead teams, especially within the Dark Judges, and his price is perfect currently for the Dark Judges army, so if something needs to change, his stats should be what gives so he can round out the army well.

4-0 in public testing against some solid competition? Seems like he makes the Dark Judges better but possibly is coming in a tad hot?

It balances out my losses for sure. One of those wins came off of a Death respawn which is going to be a rarity.

That would be awesome, thanks. Try keeping the enemy spread out to limit the number caught in the SA.
Some opposition like Titans and King Kong would be cool to see.

The hardest thing with Joker was getting him setup for his SA. He really likes passive movement so might be good with Cap II as an Avenger where he can really benefit from that initiative movement. His base attack isn't great so I almost always spent the time setting him up for the SA.

I think his best pairings are the Judges who like having him so they can just Teleport in and he can distract the enemy and maybe get in a SA attack or when paired with someone that offers passive movement along with bonding or OM efficiency, like maybe Robot? Really, if you aren't taking him with the other Dark Judges you almost want to protect him so having a bigger threat is a good thing.

The Dark Judges themselves aren't that sturdy though so you want to play quick and dirty and take out weak figures as you can, specifically if you can get them all around one enemy. It felt like the best play was R1 with Joker and then port in the others and ignore Joker till later unless you get a kill with Death and Joker is primed for an SA.
