First I thought it would be better to have you re-roll the blanks each time, but then you have to factor in red and blue dice. With this wording, it sounds right and you can use both colored dice.

Nope. You've still got a different number of blanks depending on what dice you're using. For using Kiova's card, you sure didn't use it right. :P

Kiova says "you may re-roll all defense dice that did not show shields."

So to use her wording, the power would be:

Untapped Power - When rolling attack dice, each die rolled that does not show a skull counts as one additional skull. When rolling defense dice, each die rolled that does not show a shield counts as one additional shield.
