One of our designers is working on a Doggin' squad to help Dund out actually .. so stay tuned. But he does get the Hunter move bonus.

I think a Ranged pod that could fit in a couple of squads of Sylvans to add some range defense and/or screen is a good way to mix it up. That would be 80-points of Sylvans - so most folks might just want Raelin - but the variety is nice.

And I'll keep a look out for your portable trees!! Great minds think alike!

Re: Northwest Heroscape Customs - new figures 12/21/2013

We have added two new figures to the OP. We present Kyrllin, an illusionist who battles for Ullar, and the Saar Whisper Scout, who aids Snipers and Scouts while fighting under Aquilla's banner.

Also, we have fixed the text on Torver's card to add clarity to his Boulder Throw special power.

All feedback is welcome.

Thank you,
the NWHC team

Not sure if this is this the answer to your question, but it is along the lines of Dragon Swoop on Sonlen, but if the sting lands it has a chance to do more than 1 damage. We thought the Retchets and Sujoah versions were potentially more dangerous than this version. If it is a question about why the power itself on his shoulder is a dragon that has a long red stinger.

Ah -- I see I was reading it in reverse as "until you inflict a wound" instead of "do not inflict a wound". My bad.

BTW your card text is different from the text below it -- the latter has a "small or medium" restriction.

Re: Northwest Heroscape Customs - new figures 12/21/2013

The Whisper Scout was designed to help the Mohican River Tribe, but he also gives a boost to Deadeye Dan, Zetacron, and Kira Jax.

Here are some Army ideas:

Mohican River Tribe x3 ... 210
Brave Arrow ... 260
Whisper Scout x 3 ... 425
Zetacron ... 485
Isamu ... 495

Lead out with one Whisper Scout and bond with another to have a pair of flanking "recon/advanced spotters." Mohicans follow up behind and are rolling 3 attack with range (potentially 4 with range + height). When the enemy gets too close, the Mohicans can engage hand to hand and a Whisper Scout can back up - and take a shot at a Hero. Likely they don't destroy the Hero, allowing either another Whisper Scout to fire or you can bring Zetacron up for a 3-die Deadly Shot. Zetacron gets a little broken if he can get height for a 4-die Deadly shot. A key defense against the Whisper Scouts is that they do not add their bonus to other Scouts when they are engaged.

You can substitute Deadeye Dan for Zeta' but I also ran Kira Jax in several playtests and she was great. Her 3 base attack plus the Whisper bonus is nice, and she can negate powers like Stealth Dodge.

I really like Torver. Has the group considered submitting him or other figures to the SOV?

Thanks, Nomad lead the design on Torver. He's a very fun figure!

For SoV - we are almost finished with our first wave and then we'll see about nominations.

Re: Northwest Heroscape Customs - new figures 12/21/2013

Serenity, I'm glad you like Torver. He is really fun and makes the Granite Guardians worth playing. Torver took about a year to finish from initial conception to brainstorming to play testing to finalizing. Many changes took place with the powers and it was a total team effort as to how he finally ended up. We also have another Stone Giant in the play testing phase who is more of cheerleader with much variability.

Here is an army idea the proved fairly successful in play tests:
Torver . . . 130
Granites x3 . . . 400
Warden . . . 520

SoV? We would like to nominate all of our figures! We have two more that we will release in a week or so and then we will let things percolate.

Re: Northwest Heroscape Customs - new figures 12/21/2013

Ok another rules-clarification question from me. (Hope y'all don't mind.) With Richter, for his SA, how do you know if he moved with Bionic Leap? If he's unengaged and moves 0 spaces, does he still get the bonus for the SA?

Bionic Leap would just be something you would declare if he starts unengaged and doesn't move any spaces. Like any move for any figure, you can choose to move Richter 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 spaces. So, yes, he gets the SA bonus.
