Marvel using Wandering Monsters?
We were playing classic 'Scape today, playing a four-player game of "Chaos in the Catacomb" and afterwards I suggested to Nomad that we adapt the idea of Wandering Monsters to some Marvel/C3V games.
http://www.heroscapers.com/community...o=file&id=3130 In a multi-player game, players could bring a pool for criminals, villains and thugs to appear on the board when certain objectives are reached. Maybe something like 'save the citizen' and the player that saves the most innocent civilians or recovers objects of power is the winner. When you save a citizen or a pick up an object of power - a wandering monster (villain) is placed on the board. Sound cool? |

Re: Marvel using Wandering Monsters?
Civilian and Loot Glyph based scenarios with wandering villains could be really fun.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Marvel using Wandering Monsters?
When you're an evil supervillan, you've got to have some loot to fund your schemes. If only those darn heroes didn't show up at just the right time...

Finding objects of power like equipment glyphs can be useful too.

Re: Marvel using Wandering Monsters?
Nomad suggested that we could use this idea for the Dec. 17th tourney and I think we could have a lot of fun with it. A great idea ObfuscatedHippo. I will try and work on a map and work out some of the details this week.
One way I was thinking about steering for this Dec. 17th tourney is having the map represent the long forgotten/hidden batcave. The players pick from a villain pool to loot the batcave, and the monsters are drawn from a Batman ally pool (would be considered ghosts in this case) that try to prevent the powerful treasures from falling into villain hands. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

Re: Marvel using Wandering Monsters?
In the Classic 'Scape scenario, after you successfully pick up a Treasure - then the player to your left can place a 'Wandering Monster' in any available shadow tile space. If it is a squad, the squad must be placed in available shadow tiles. The original Catacombs map has a shadow tile directly adjacent to all treasure glyphs.
If you created a map for a Marvel version, you could either add shadow tiles, or maybe some other condition for where the 'villains' could pop up. I could see placing a wandering villain up to 5 spaces from the treasure. |
