Just sign up for a playtest in the playtesting thread and then run two tests with him (C3G-only). Let us know your thoughts and results (in the playtest form) and we'll be closer to having Conan finalized!

Since both Savage & Barbarian has no synergy among the hundreds of C3G cards already out, he has not been tested and priced with any type of bonding or heavy synergy in mind. You are free to use the design and play him at 190 in your C3V games but once you start changing the class and/or personality in order to give him bonding and/or other synergy, his points price may need to go up.

I wouldn't say that - after all, Jotun went for years without synergy until the Dreadguls came out. The cost of that is reflected on their card. Same with most other units that give synergy, even in C3G.

I actually just realized that I have some skin tone paints from my painting of Sedition Wars, I might pick the figure up and paint it up. Sort of depends on how much I actually like the design when I test it.

The only problem is that I know that no matter how hard I try, it will never be as good as the one on the first post.

TB and I were able to get in a set of games with Conan today. I'll admit I haven't followed this design very closely, but I was really impressed by the design and enjoyed playing with (and against) Conan. He's a very fun solo hero that can take on both swarms and big targets. Battle Hardened is a really cool simple power.

Balance-wise, he seems pretty close, though a little undercosted. His team lost only one game, and in that game the opponent had great luck; in one of the games his team won it was almost solely because of Conan's efforts, and in the other he had incredibly terrible dice yet still made up his cost. Based on these three games, I'd say his cost should be bumped to the 210-220 range. But overall, he gets a from me.

QUICK GAME SUMMARY:
Winning initiative the first round allowed Iron Patriot and Ms. Marvel to quickly position. With some weird luck, they took down Superboy who advanced on the other side in just a couple attacks. But things changed the second round with the Titans winning initiative and moving all of the OMs over to Conan before rushing in and dealing Ms. Marvel and Patriot a bunch of wounds. Conan, forced to suddenly rush in, couldn't do much. Winning initiative again in the third round allowed the Titans to move the OMs unto Ms. Marvel before killing her with Raven's Soul Self, followed by activating Titans Go! the next turn and killing Iron Patriot, losing Conan's team all of their OMs. Conan only got a single turn after that, which just wasn't enough time to do anything.

During the First Round: Army 1 wins Initiative (Ms. Marvel and Conan move up).

Initiative again favoring Iron Patriot the first round, and again the dice siding against Superboy, this rematch seemed to be a repeat at first, especially since the Titans were again able to take down Ms. Marvel by the middle of the second round. But this game, Conan got to play. He was able to take down Raven in two turns with Barrage of Blades. The Titans focused and finished off Iron Patriot, but Conan took down Nightwing shortly after. At that point, Tempest just wasn't a match for Conan.

Conan had absolutely terrible dice (he kept taking wounds from the Hydra Agents while he was on height, and he failed numerous times when attacking Madame Hydra), but despite this he made up almost his points worth. If dice had even just been average for Conan, I don't doubt he would have done a lot more damage.

QUICK GAME SUMMARY:
HYDRA and Conan's team clashed in the middle of the map. Conan came in at the end of the first round, and though he was able to consistently kill HYDRA Agents, his attacks repeatedly failed against Madame HYDRA. And despite the fact that he was sitting on height, the HYDRA Agents were able to deal a lot of damage to Conan as he repeatedly whiffed on defense. By the beginning of the third round, Conan was already dead. After this, turns bounced between Captain America and Merlyn as they handily cleaned through Madame HYDRA, the rest of the Agents, and Baron Von Strucker. Marrow came out and made a good fight of things, killing Merlyn and nearly finishing off Robot before finally dying.

Great tests V! Thanks for doing those. How many wounds did Conan take when he was first hit in each game?

He has it listed under Battle Hardened in the Unit Sum-Up. It was 1, 2 and 1. The wound in the first game was from Tempest's ability, the other were from attacks that turned out well for him. He had some rough luck in the third game, outside that first roll. Lots of missed Defense rolls (even with Cap's boost), and a great opportunity against Madame Hydra that went wasted due to bad Attack rolls. He was lots of fun though, it's a great design.

Thanks, sometimes I can be a bit blind. I just reviewed my tests as well and he did kill above his points on the two good games he had. Perhaps a bump up in points is indeed warranted here. Since it sounded like Smithy was planning on knocking out his test this weekend, I'll wait to see if those come in and see what they indicate.
