Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
What if it was just based off the number of attack dice Crossbones actually rolls vs. the number of defense dice the opponent’s figure rolls?

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
That is a direction I'd want to see CRB input on. Otherwise, I think Static is the way too go. Otherwise I fear nailing down an actual point cost here will be difficult at best.

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
Keep in mind that we're looking at a situational -1 in defense. Sure it's nice, but hardly a game breaker. Not sure the CRB is needed any more than usual.

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
Yeah, this. It's situational (melee only and only against certain figures) and only half of what Adamantium Claws gives you all the time. Sure, it'll be nice against Flash or someone like that, but it's not a massive deal. Besides, Acrobatic Manoeuver is a bastard of a power - it could use more counters.

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
I dunno, I'm worried they could find a way to break it. This is just too borderline like other units that have been reevaled.

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
I’m in the -1 defense is fairly low impact crowd, but I’m fine with the CRB being tagged as a precaution.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
I also understood the intent to be base attack vs. base attack comparison, meaning stat boosters would not have any impact on it. Didn't realize Prime was written such that he changed the actual base attack values, I blame Ronin for letting that one slip by.
If we want to update Prime and reword it so he just boosts the stat instead of changing it, that would be fine with me. If not, I just want to point out that Prime's attack boost requires you to reveal an OM on the card of the figure who is getting the boost and attacking, so Crossbones couldn't att. twice with the boost since his double att. only comes into play when you don't reveal the OM on his card. Not worried about Sinister at all, that is a lot of work and cost associated with just getting a -1 def. on Superman. So many easier ways to drop Superman's def. by 1 for an attack. |

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
Yeah I don’t really see a CRB issue here. He basically does everything worse than Wolverine. Although Crossbones may be ~100 points cheaper, it’s hard to imagine him being much of an issue.
I think it should be noted that he can’t really use his Trigger Man and Brutality abilities on the same turn. One requires non-adjacency while the other requires adjacency. I guess, theoretically, if he attacked a non-adjacent Flash, then the Flash Speed Dodged into engagement with him, then he could use Brutality on his second Trigger Man attack. But that just seems like a stupid thing for the Flash to do. |

I can't see what Karat's on about with this being 'borderline'. We've done this mechanic before, stronger, and he needs to be in melee and to yield his multi-attack to use it anyway. 90% of the time he'll be shooting twice from range. |

For the record. I don’t like having stat boosters elevating him and don’t like the be defense option. This would pigeon hole him more into a cap/Star-Lord army and distance him more from his thematic teams. Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: The Book of Crossbones (Breathing Period)
Not at all. In fact I'd say in practice that the use of the Competitive checklist has replaced tagging the CRB more often than not as of late.

I’m honestly fine with him being an okay pairing with Cap, because I kind of like heroes and their thematic villains being decent pairs with one another. But I don’t love it getting in the way of who should really be pairing with. (Red Skull, Hydra, a potential Sin design) |
