Why is Wave 3 So Expensive?

Do you really consider that $120 well-spent? No regrets at all? I don't like paying $12.99 for a single pack... I can't imagine paying $30 for one.

I was fortunate when it came to Wave 3. Found 3 of the 4 at my local Wally-World, mixed in with some later waves and a little beat up. They also had an EOV on the top shelf, beat up and dusty, for the regular price. The only tough find was Heroes of Nostralund, which I found at an obscure online shop on sale, and got the last one in stock (after searching through 50 pages on google with Nostralund as the search).
If you want to find Wave 3 cheaper, spend some time on google and the other search engines, you will never know what you might find.

My search was very perilous indeed. I got a notification that Wave 3 preorders were up at HouseMouse. I opened a browser, navigated to the site and purchased the five sets I wanted. About a month later the sets arrived at my doorstop long before they hit shelves in my area. I was happy.

Well the only problem with that is that many players enjoy HS partially because they don't have to paint anything. Like myself, for example. I'd rather just buy the set that I need now and not worry about it. (I use the money I make from my freelance articles so it's all extra cash anyway.)

Sure, somebody listed this wave for $260 and he wouldn't have had he not thought that he could get $260 for it. But will anybody actually purchase it?

No, I do not. I could see him or her getting maybe $200 but that'd be pushing it. Of course the stupidity of the faceless masses never fails to amaze me so who knows?

In that seller's defense, eBay does appear to be the ONLY way to get Wave 3 at this point (or Sir Hawthorne, Nerak, or the EOV).
