I am not voting for him but I will give him congratulations on his nomination as the Democratic Party candidate for President of the United States of America.

I mean, I know its a done deal realistically, but I read the BBC a few moments ago and they had it as "he is, but it's not official".

I can't vote (not a citizen) but I'm glad that he is.

Seriously. I don't see her giving up easily and fully expect there to be a floor fight in Denver. The only way out would be if she takes the VP slot, but Obama would have to be even more niave than I already think he is to offer it to her.

However, when it is all said and done I do think it will be McCain v Obama. And, I lay 5 to 3 odds on Obama being the one elected.

I don't think Hillary will fight that long - she's accrued way too much debt. But I do agree with your odds on the final outcome. Regardless of your political persuasion, you have to feel for McCain. He's wanted this for a long time, and now he's facing one of the hardest campaigns ever faught.

I don't plan on supporting McCain, but something tells me that if McCain loses he'll be able to overcome the adversity of defeat.

He probably won't have long to regret, anyway. He'll probably keel over in December. Heck, the best thing he could probably do to energize the base is to die, say in the Fall sometime. I can just see Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity telling everybody to vote for McCain anyway, because a Dead Republican would govern better than a Live Democrat anyday. I can practically hear them saying that right now.
