NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Kirigi

- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them.

- Give a brief overview. He's very tough, usually only taking 1 wound per attack, but struggles a bit offensively.

Units: Kirigi v. Elektra (170)
These 2 seemed pretty evenly matched. Similar stats, similar unblockable attacks, similar lifespans, Phantom Walk.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Kirigi wins with 5 wounds R2T5.

TEST 2

Units:Kirigi v. Elektra
Kirigi felt a tad better in this match.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Kirigi wins with 4 wounds R2T4.

TEST 3
Map: .
Units: Kirigi v. Daredevil (180) Rope Knife Amended from this test on.
Kirigi got a single wound on Daredevil, and DD was forced to stay in engagement to avoid autowounds. His Radar Sense made it work, though.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Daredevil wins with 3 wounds in R3T2.

TEST 4

Units: Kirigi v. Daredevil
Daredevil's Radar Sense was hot here, poor Kirigi didn't have much recourse.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Daredevil wins with 1 wound R3T2.

TEST 5

Units: Kirigi v. Mystique (165)
Mystique probably doesn't live up to her points one on one, and disengaging in an attempt to Kite was actually in Kirigi's favor, as he could then use Rope Knife. Mystique felt overmatched here.

TEST 6

Units: Kirigi v. Mystique
This game presented an interesting scenario where Mystique took height. Kirigi didn't want to engage, as it would mean risking Engagement Strike and taking away Rope Knife. Mystique didn't want to engage for fear of losing height advantage (which she needs to win this fight). Kirigi got several rope knife wounds, but was always too greedy for wounds to pull her off her perch. Still, he's dang tough.

TEST 7

Units:Kirigi v. Black Widow (170)
Kirigi got Widow's Bite'd twice, which really helped Natasha cut through his defensive power. Meanwhile, pulling Widow in close didn't really help Kirigi much.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Black Widow wins R2T5 with 3 wounds.

TEST 8

Units: Kirigi v. Black Widow
Widow's Bite made short work of Kirigi.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Black Widow wins on R1T6 with 1 wound.

TEST 9

Units: Kirigi v. Gorilla Man (160)
This one felt pretty evenly matched. G-Man's definitely the heavier hitter, but Kirigi is tougher.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Kirigi wins with 5 wounds in R2T4 (although technically, G-Man would have won since Kirigi rolled an 8 for the Curse).

TEST 10

Units: Kirigi v. Gorilla Man
Kirgi was tougher again, although again, technically the curse did in Kirigi, but for Heavy Hitters I'm gonna ignore it.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Kirigi with 5 wounds in R2T5.

- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes
- What should be the unit's point value? 150?
- Give a brief overview. Kirigi holds up well to multiple attacks, usually minimizing the damage, but has trouble taking out more than one squaddie per turn. He whiffed twice on attacks though, which I feel made him look worse than he is.

Units: Kirigi v. Street Thugs x2 (150)

Kirigi holds up well against the attacks, but without the multi-wounding option of the Rope Knife (Thugs stayed engaged), he struggles. Still, the fact that he whiffed twice on attacks changed this one a bit.

Don't know the guy here and his powers look like they've been thoroughly vetted already, so I'll just chime in to say I'm happy to see an Undead Ninja!

I'm amending Kirigi's Rope Knife to be a "if he was not engaged at the start of the turn" power, ala Spider-Man's Webslinger.

With just a "not engaged" restriction, he could easily Phantom Walk away and rope knife figures to death, given his resilience.

Looking 170ish to me so far. Looks good!

Yeah, he's looking pretty good so far around 170. Thugs were on a optimal map for them and if he didn't roll good, it could have been closer than it showed. But Thugs aren't really 75 points w/o bonding, so there's that. But 4 attacks/turn is still a lot to go against for a short ranged unit like Kirigi. Though unlike others, he will only take 1 wound at a time.

Did good vs. Ninja and in HH. Again, Ninja aren't 85 w/o bonding, but vs. a short ranged unit, they can fare okay.

Kirigi might be able to tear up some two man squads like the Skrull Warriors or even the Lex Corps Security.

50% chance of auto wounding some figures like Flash, GL, Spidey etc. is nice to have for sure.

In case you guys couldn't tell, I've kind of been putting this guy off. Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic, but I didn't have much fun with him.

He's not really a very important character, so maybe I'm being overly critical, but not having fun with an Undead Ninja seems like a bit of a fail to me. Plus, I never really liked Rope Knife no matter how I tried to tweak it. Originally it was too powerful, now it's too easy to counter.

I'm gonna think on it and probably proceed with Ms. Marvel for now until I come up with something.

Maybe it's because I've seen the character before or because I have the really cool sculpt for her, but I'm muuuuch more excited to see Ms. Marvel moving forward.

I wonder if some sort of healing power wouldn't make this guy more interesting (seems justified in the bio) or some sort of synergy with the Hand beyond just the bonding (he seems like he could be a leader type for them??)?

If nobody else is interested in this one, and everyone's OK with it, I might grab it to proxy after Ms. Marvel is wrapped up in order to help that Antagonists Assemble wave stay whole.

Also, the write up here seems really solid to me and lines up with what I've read about the character on Wiki.

The only changes I'd make would be to change the last two power titles to:

Kyoketsu Shogi (the Japanese name for the Rope Knife)

and

Healing Meditation

And I'd also change the mechanics on the Healing Meditation power slightly, to something like this:

HEALING MEDITATION
If Kirigi receives two or more wounds from a single attack, but is not destroyed, you may immediately remove up to two of those wounds.

Cool, I just updated it with your changes and cleaned up the text from what Margloth had, using CAPS where they should be and getting rid of the Bolded stuff.

Will work on the initial when I can.

Where's the meditation part? Shouldn't he have to at least forego a turn?
