Re: Heroscape 2nd Edition is here!

Hasbro did give the HeroQuest backers the last two tiers, even though the goals were not met. They did not have to do that, but they did anyway and it was awesome.

I am a backer for the Ghost Rider car, but I am having mixed feelings about it. It is expensive, but if it came with all the extra stretch goals, it wouldn't be as bad. If it does not reach those unlocks, I will seriously consider backing out.

Edit: They revealed one of the reach goals today, unlocked at 12,000 backers. Its a figure that has never been done in Marvel Legends before and a lot of people have been wanting. Backers did jump up a few hundred, but its just over 4,500 now, half the minimum goal of 9,000 to reach production.

Since. Y'know. Not officially confirmed yet.
Volarak feet are the best of ALL FEET!
I'm not sure whose feet these are, but more importantly, it establishes Volarak as our ninth Valkyrie (and lime green).
While I didn't expect Jandar to receive a Dawn Raider, Captain Vane actually significantly increased my excitement for his faction. I like the fact that the Syndicate has at least one archetypal historical pirate with minimal sci-fi elements. I am surprised that Jandar's contribution isn't a Viking, though.

Meanwhile, EJ-1M excellently encapsulates the kind of zany genre-mixing antics expected from this game. First we have a katana-wielding WWII soldier, then a lizard-armed Viking, and now a robot pirate gunslinger. I also appreciate the continuation of the Vydar's "Rank Letter-Number" Soulborg nomenclature.

One such champion of justice is the fabled Wing Commander Tuck Harrigan a daredevil acrobat in warfare, Tuck is everywhere on the battlefield at once. Whether he is nose diving directly into where the fighting is most fierce or weaving around the viscous strikes of his pitifully slow and lethargic enemy combatants. Tuck exemplifies the sheer willpower, ingenuity and expert training that has proven to be the winning recipe for the Clockwork Combine’s continued success in battle. To further recognize and grant context to the Combine’s skills at warfare, there are those siege craft specialist among the Vorid that can make any defensive line appear worthless. A rare breed indeed even among the kin, the Vorid Burrowbreakers are an elite team of sappers capable of moving silently under the enemy lines, appearing without warning or fanfare, and laying waste to their opponents with massive implements of their art of war. On Valhalla, the unpredictable tactics of the Clockwork Combine are instrumental in upsetting the perfectly laid plans of their adversaries, and the Vorid Burrowbreakers prove their mettle every time they are deployed underneath the feet of unsuspecting enemies. (NOW, you have seen my favorite character... Who doesn't want to play a maniac, murderous, lunatic sugar glider, rocketeer, gunslinger with a death wish?

image names are: "has_the_best_feet" for Tuck and "too_OP_for_tournaments" for Vorid
Harrigan sounds like fun. Importantly, his art and image name establish the Combine as a Volarak faction.

I'm more interested in the Burrowbreaker, though, as it's a Unique Hero described in plural and named by its species and job. I'm guessing that this is a mislabeled Common Hero, a new take on Uncommon Heroes, or a literal "whack-a-mole" uses a single figure to represent an entire team of sequentially appearing Vorids.

My guess is that the Vorid hero doesn't actually have a unique name yet, and that's just a placeholder.

I actually wouldn't mind if the Vorid Burrowbreaker had that as its name as a unique hero. There's already precedent for generic names for unique heroes, a la Venoc Warlord (and the Marro Hive, if we want to include that).

Re: Heroscape 2nd Edition is here!

I didn’t say anything about that.

All names are subject to change, I suppose, though some may not.

He quite specifically refused to comment on EJ, and for that matter doesn't know whether Revna is a Rev tribute.
(And nobody else has confirmed or denied either one)

Must have been others similarly speculating, then.

I would certainly hope for something. There are a few folks from the early days that it would be nice to see something for.

Simply the best.
