The Book of Phantom Knights

The Book of Phantom Knights
Champions of the Forgotten Realms - Collection 11 (D1) - "Warriors of the Ghostlight Fen"

If you cannot see the Army Card graphic, check the Heroscapers Gallery for stats and special powers, plus "character biography" and other non-game unit info.
Character Bio: (Truth's front-page description)
The Phantom Knights are a new squad for Utgar. They were righteous knights in a previous life, but are tormented by their new ethereal form. With STEALTH FLYING and INSUBSTANTIAL 3, they can fly around the battlefield, almost invisible to any ranged attacks, and strike with height when they find their chance. But they haven’t truly forgotten who they once were. As such, they are still KNIGHTS and will help to bolster Sir Dupuis if they happen to be drafted together.

Phantom Knights- What's your army idea?

Good counter armies for the Phantom Knights

Like reverse Redcoats. Somewhat match-up dependent. Could potentially hit A- with some tourney success. B+ (Jexik)

Re: The Book of the Phantom Knights

2 squads of these with 2 squads of sentinels seem like a nice little combo. Drop in Concan as a stopping point on the way in for the second wave and you will have your hands full of defense dice!

Re: The Book of the Phantom Knights

I like the idea of pairing them up with Sir Dupuis the best-they're both fast with an ability that lets them ignore Leaving Engagement Attacks, so they can charge into the meat of our opponent's army. Sir D finally has a unit that can easily give him his Knight's Courage bonus.

Sir Dupis 150
PK x3 + 210 = 360

So with a 500 point army in mind, what would you spend the last 140 points on? And don't say rats or Raelin.

DW9K. No, I'm actually being serious(somewhat). Good range, squad-killing, Large/soulborg immunities AND a special attack!

Re: The Book of the Phantom Knights

Still need to get some a.archers, but backing up the knights with some archers sounds good to me. I'd even play test DW9 and see how it goes, not sure if I'd trust him in that role for a tourney yet. Definately go with some ranged support though for those last 140 points.

I like Othkurik to top off that army-he provides Range and a Special Attack. I'd upgrade the dragon as the points went up.

And I've never used Rats and have phased Raelin out of my armies.

My first inclination would actually be 2 more squads of PKs. OMs are easy, and Dupuis will be buffed where ever he may roam.

If fielding 5x PKs is not an option? Hmm.

Concan comes to mind, as he can boost the PKs, but that sounds OM tricky if you strive to maximize those boosts- as well as leaving 60pts for?

Kaemon Awa is a good fit, or the Fen Hydra, but leaves only 20pts. Kaemon is probably better because he offers a special attack.

Here's one other suggestion: 2x Axegrinders. Why? Because most of the baddies with Special Attacks that threaten your PKs are big, and that's what Dwarves deal with best. It'll be a bit of balance between moving Dwarves and PKs, but they support each other's weaknesses pretty nicely.

Edit: Well, Rats are still a problem... rats.

2x Sentinels and filler

Or like Ronin suggested, 2x Axes. Without a hero, the dwarves are always going to be getting 6 move each time. The dwarves are fast aren't they?
