ROYAL WEDDING!!!! Who Cares?

Well, frankly I think the (over) coverage of this event is starting to get really annoying. It is lovely that two people love each other and want to spend their lives together, but really? Does it matter who's on the guest list to people who aren't on the guest list?
"Oh look David Bowie's invited, wish I could be there." NOT!

So I'm wondering how many of you 'Scapers out there even gives a hoot about the Royal Wedding. I would especially appreciate any opinion from British 'Scapers. There must be at least one out there! Heck, any non-American 'Scaper's opinion would be great so that we could get some other perspective. That British guy covering the story on CNN is really annoying.

Sorry, it might be a bit over covered, but I would rather hear about them than any Kardashian, jersey shore Ho's any day. Or have we forgotten about charlie sheens crazy crack headed crap, or lilos jail time, or.... You get my meaning, it might be boring but its about something happy instead of how drug addled rich people have such sorry lives and loves because they have tooo much money.

Personally, I don't really care about the royal wedding. I do hope the couple are truly in love and can stay happily married for the rest of their lives. I agree that the coverage has been overblown, but cavebehr makes a good point. At least it bumped Martin Sheen's spoiled-brat, drug-addled son out of the limelight for a few days.

Quite a few girls at my school are crazy about it, and it is extremely annoying. They don't even live in England! Why do they care? They always start squealing about it too, and that gives me a headache.

Something that the news coverage seems to have forgotten is that this isn't about Kate's dress, this is a true royal wedding. This is history happening right before our eyes, and very few people seem to recognize that.

True, it is history. But with the British Monarchy relegated to a figurehead role, it is not nearly as important as it would have been in past centuries when a royal wedding may have indicated a new political alliance.

I will be glad when the Wedding is over. There are few things that matter less or that I could care less about.

Royal families in this day and age are an antiquated notion and should be done away with.

Luckily I've managed to avoid the coverage by ignoring it entirely. Perhaps this is a time to consider ditching that TV set? A decision I've never regretted in the five years since I made it. You could also try not reading anything about it. And if someone mentions it in casual conversation then punch them in the face and never speak to them again. Easy.

This is the first article in quite some time I've read about the whole fandango. It raises some deep, important points.
