This would be in addition to the already existing user galleries.
If I understand this part correctly, you want us to create a "User Galleries" forum under the "Custom HS Creations" section? I'm not sure how this is different than the separations we have now where users post their own threads under the most appropriate category?

Could we have a little more characters for the sigs, pretty please? Even if I Tiny URL all my links I run out of room.

I understand there being a limit, but if we're going to allow 59 KB images in sigs, some more text shouldn't be a big deal.

I know what you mean shakey, if you have a lot of html and links it eats up characters. The image size is a separate thing from max characters. The max is 255 characters and it can't be changed on an individual basis, sorry.

Meh, I can always just make an image map with the links in it...

But for maybe those that can't (and might not even know about tinyURL), I can imagine that putting useful info in a sig can be nearly impossible.

I know image size is a separate thing, but what I was meaning is that if limiting sigs to an (uncommonly low) 255 chars is an attempt to cut down load times, then there is flaw in that logic.

Maybe I was just thinking of this subconsciously. On the threads that get really long, it would be nice to have something like a pulldown menu to go to a particular page. On the really long ones it gives you beginning, end, and a small range around where you currently are at (if not at beginning or end). Sure I could just type in a post number after the start= in the URL, but that is so anti-GUI.

I was always annoyed by this myself, particularly at HQ, but this would require writing some code that I don't know how to do. Either that or a third party mod, and those are not gonna happen anymore unless the new functionality seems really necessary. So. . . we're stuck typing in post numbers. Nice suggestion though.

K/H_Addict costs too much!
would there be a way to program the site to automatically put up the "come join us in chat now!" button when someone enters the chat?

Not at all. The chat is a totally separate entity from the other parts of the site.
