Round 1: Red Hulk leaps to height. The GLs put 3 wounds on Red Hulk. Red Hulk puts 3 wounds onto Simon. Simon heals 2 wounds and the GLs put another 3 wounds onto Red Hulk. Red Hulk puts 2 wounds onto Simon. Simon heals 2 wounds and Jessica puts another wound onto Red Hulk. Overheated puts 1 wound onto Jessica.

Round 2: The GLs take out Red Hulk. The GLs fail to wound Venom. Venom takes out Simon. Venom is blocked.

Round 3: Venom kills Jessica. Venom had some hot attack dice.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Venom (0 wounds) wins.

Venom had some hot dice at the end with an initiative switch, and that spelled doom for the GLs. They’re glass cannons!

Played this game once and Hulk one-shot Simon on turn 3 of round 1, so I decided to just replay the game.

Round 1: Kilowog charges his recruits and drops a GC Shield near them. Hawkeye puts a wound on Simon, then Hulk puts 2 more wounds on Simon. Simon heals 2 wounds and he and Jessica attack Hulk but to no avail. (Jessica burns a marker for Fighting the Fear.)

Round 2: Simon removes the X from Hulk and Jessica puts 2 wounds on Hulk. Cap moves up and Hawkeye snipes a GC Shield. Simon fails but Jessica puts 3 wounds on Hulk. Hulk throws Kilowog into Jessica, wounding them both, then gives the GLs the clap, destroying the remaining GC Shields and wounding Simon. Jessica takes out Hulk. Hawkeye fails.

Round 3: Simon and Jessica manage to kill Captain America from height on turn 1. Cap had all the OMs. Kilowog and Jessica take out Hawkeye.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Jessica (1 wound, 3 batteries), Simon (2 wounds, 1 battery), Kilowog (1 wound, 0 batteries) win.

In a mirror of the first game, hot dice from the GLs at the end spelled doom for the Avengers.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Jessica’s a fun one, giving Simon a nice bump within the GL faction. Felt pretty balanced as she and Simon are both glass cannons, even more so with Kilowog. Never did get the best option of Fighting The Fear to activate, but she did have to burn a marker to attack once.

Brutally big hitting match. Jessica was slinging attacks of 8 and 9, some with blanks as skulls, following up after Simon's turn. She had fairly poor luck with her attack rolls early on, but later in the game she started hitting them hard. Rolled well d20 wise as well. Valkyrie had poor luck on defense with multiple botches. It felt like this match should have been a blowout for the Lanterns, but somehow the Guardians closed the gap a bit to keep it competitive.

Kilowog with 1 wound(4 life & 0 markers) & Jessica with 1 wound(3 life and 4 markers). Valkyrie and Simon(2 markers) unwounded.

Absolute decimation. Mr. Fantastic rolled low at the start so he couldn't get his army all into Invisible Woman's range early enough, and Human Torch paid for that. Jocasta sacrificed herself to save Fantastic. Invisible Woman was one shot by Jessica. Thing was done in 2 attacks. Certainly lucky on the Lantern side, but I think they just make for a devastating combo.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
She makes a fun combo with Simon. Add Kilowog and they become absolutely brutal offensively. Add Valkyrie for added life insurance from attacks, and they become insane. Luck taken into account, which they had plenty of roll wise, I think a 20 point bump for Jessica makes sense since she's the one with the bonding.

Hmm. Don't mind just bumping the points a bit, but I think I'd want one more set of games with that change to make sure it was sufficient.

Considering points bump or dropping her Attack number by 1. Open to thoughts/feelings/perceptions.

Aya's nearly finished (I'm going to think some things through and probably propose a vote to FE later today) - might be worth throwing her into one test to see what a second D20 boost to Fighting the Fear can do?

When paired with Simon it’s not really worth worrying about, IMO, but I guess if you really value blanks in a higher point game.

Oh, I absolutely agree, but that blank effect can still be nice, especially if you have height and/or Kilowog, so it'd be nice to see it at least once. Aya could also, alternatively, free her up to work with someone stronger like Hal rather than Simon - though I don't think that'd be as efficient as Simon, it's still an option.


EDIT: On second thought, Hal's probably not the best option there since you probably want to use the once per round D20 boost on him, but maybe someone like Guy or, if you want a cheaper option, Ch'p?
