RIP Pernell Roberts (AKA Trapper John) (AKA Adam Cartwright)
Pernell Roberts, famous for his TV roles as Adam Cartwright on Bonanza and Dr. John McIntyre on Trapper John, M.D., died at his Malibu, Calif., home on Sunday.
Roberts was 81. His wife, Eleanor Criswell, confirmed he died of cancer, according to the Los Angeles Times.

 By far my favorite character on Bonanza as a kid. Too sophisticated at that time for US TV audiences--or perhaps only the suits in Hollywood!
