I like "Rise Up" a lot, especially since it looks like just about every unit has a chance at climbing up to the high ground or at least getting adjacent to it. The placement of the ruins is a nice way to mitigate the advantage of the high ground. Yeah, I like "Rise Up" a lot...

We are the first line arbiters, right? We (collectively) need to play test as many of these maps as we can and report back to you. That is my understanding from the wording on the OP. Let me know if I have the right of it.

Based of the 2009 GenCon map contest, I think that, after all the submissions are in, Ry is going to break them into groups of 10 or fewer, set up a poll for each group, then let everyone vote on which they like best, with another poll for the final. If somebody wants to base their votes on playtesting, they can, but it's not required. Final playtesting of the maps to determine tournament-readiness will fall to Ry to decide which maps will make an appearance at GenCon (popularity contests can sometimes yield weird results)

Killometer is right. It isn't that ambitious.

From my perspective, it is purely about getting more maps made using ROTV and Castle. That is it. From there, it is pretty much a popularity contest. However, the hope is that at least one map will be suitable to our needs at GenCon this year.

We are going with 9 maps at GenCon built 4 times each. We have already decided on 8 of them. This contest is to help us fill that last slot.
