Don't care about storyline?

Am I the only one who doesn't care about the story line? Does Heroscape even need one?

I bought this game because it's teh 1337 to have a samurai kill a zombie, only to have his face blasted off by an alien with a laser beam rifle. Not because of some Valhalla thing.

I like the storyline. But I wouldn't care if it wasn't there.

Dan's Mom: "Why you persist in acting like a fifteen year old is beyond me."

Dan: "I'm filled with reckless desire."

I feel the same as Taelord.
Although I think it’s kind of nice to have some light shed on the goings on and with the character backgrounds.

Can't they just drop an occasional hint/riddle on their website?

IMO, it's more fun to make up my own storyline for each battle.

The Microcorp's laser strike sattelite has been destroyed, but the Marro forgot one thing... they used their one and only captured saturn v rocket to smash the Microcorps' orbital strike satelite, instead of for a biological attack launched at Washington DC or a high population zone, a much more effective use for the rocket.

... But the Marro... did not know...

...that they hit a similarily shaped cellular phone sattelite!

Soon after, the marro military surrendered, only to be killed any ways! Not the innocent marro though.

I like that it has a story. I certainly didn't purchase it because of the story, but I do think it is a nice touch.

Great trades with Onacara, Gypsy, SirGalahad, elltrain, generalgina, Concord, Just_a_Bill, LongHeroscaper, janus19390, and the very generous obfuscatedhippo.

Personally, I see the storyline as a marketing opportunity that Hasbro has not decided to use yet. D+D has the Dragonlance Chronicles, 'Scape could very easily have its own set of novels (bundled with 'Con exclusives for added sales).

I didn't even think of the bios. While I do like them I fell the same way about them.

Dan's Mom: "Why you persist in acting like a fifteen year old is beyond me."

Dan: "I'm filled with reckless desire."

I agree with keglo here. Some of the bios are interesting reads as well.

I don't actually like the new storyline, I liked the pre-SotM storyline much better.

I haven't delved into the story much because it's too spread out. I wouldn't miss it if it was gone, but since we have it I'd rather not have it suddenly taken away. I'm pretty much like the kid with a toy he doesn't want to play with until someone threatens to get rid of it. :P

This is not the path I thought.
This is not the place I sought.
This is not the dream I bought,
just a fever of fate I've caught.
