It's a commission piece. The artist has done comic work before (the occasional Marvel cover), but it's definitely unofficial.

As a rule I advise we stick to official sources (for both "to make this as official as possible" QC reasons and "to not steal artwork from individuals" legal/ethical reasons) but it's not something we've ever had a hard-and-fast rule on, and commissions from industry artists are certainly a grey area.

Yeah, with characters like this (where their publication history is tiny and their memorability is high) it's tough. You're best off sticking to comic covers and trading cards.

I'll note that the big wikis (Marvel and DC), in my experience, only include officially sourced art, so they're a good source. Like, here's their Spider-Boy page.
