Seriously though, I remember thinking as a kid when I saw Superman II "why are they sleeping together, they aren't married yet?". That was another thing that they did that I personally disliked. I mean Superman is supposed to be a very wholesome Hero, and even on Smallville the guy has slept with at least 3 women that I know of. Oh, and the slogan "truth, justice, and the American way" just finally made it back to the comics after decades of perverting that catchy line that helped to make him famous among Americans.

Hollywood is killing the innocence of one of America's greatest heroes, and it is a crying shame.

That's some Hollywood bigwigs idea of making Clark "cool" to have him sleep around. (I count three as well.)
No offense, but if you think Superman is unbeatable, you don't get the character AT ALL. The awesomeness of Superman stories is that even though he is SO Strong, SO Fast, SO invulnerable, often it is not those things that help him save the day. Its his conscience (which is very human) and his sense of right and wrong (read Irredeemable if you wanna know what Supes is like without the moral compass. Its not pretty) that make him one of us and interesting. For all his powers, he is just as susceptable to heartbreak as you and I, and no amount of Superstrength, speed, or other power can counter cancer or a heart attack. Superman's biggest weakness isn't Kryptonite, its his heart. Why do you think Heroic Duty is on the card we made over Heat Vision or Freeze Breathe? Its cause it is an essential element of Superman. Not interesting? Give me him over Wolverine any day, and twice on Sunday!

Oh I am with ya Spidey. Who Superman is will always be more important/interesting than what he can do.

And that is the problem I have today, because "they" keep chipping away at who he is and soon there will be nothing left.

Grif, I think the current writers get him. That is why currently he has begun a Forrest Gump-like walk across America to reconnect with his roots. All of the stories have been in small towns in Illinois, Iowa, etc. Endearing, heartwarming, Superman stories.

I agree completely, and Geoff had a lot to do with the new aesthetics (even though they are more classic) for the comics. They are the ones responsible for bringing back the old motto; Truth, Justice, and the American Way. And they have been putting more American flags in the comics and on the covers. They are getting back to the good Superman we all love, but Hollywood keeps taking shots at him. However, I have faith in team Nolin to do the right thing for Man of Steel.

It's about pure awesomeness. He's Superman if he were written for the first time in the year 2000 (i.e. the right way). It's hands down the very best Superhero comic book in existence.

Yep, cardstock. It takes some work getting them to stay where they're supposed to though.
