Character Bio - For months Scarlet Witch served Magneto out of a sense of obligation and fear of his reprisal. When the extraterrestrial Stranger transported Magneto from Earth, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver left the Brotherhood and petitioned for membership in the Avengers. They were inducted along with Hawkeye to take the place of the charter members, who wished a leave of absence.

During her career as an Avenger, the Scarlet Witch underwent training in sorcery under the tutelage of a true witch named Agatha Harkness, as well as marrying her love, Vision. Although rocky events have taken place throughout her history, she has remained focused and determined to be a force of good.

UNCANNY AVENGER
At the start of the game, place a white Avenger Marker on the card of a friendly Unique Hero. At the beginning of your turn, you may place a destroyed figure in your army that has an Avenger Marker on its card onto an empty space within 4 clear sight spaces of Scarlet Witch. The placed figure cannot be destroyed. Before taking a turn with Scarlet Witch, you may take a turn with the placed figure, and you may not take additional turns other than with Scarlet Witch. At the end of your player turn, remove the placed figure from the game.

CHAOS BOLTS
When attacking normally with Scarlet Witch, multiply the skulls in her attack by 1 + X. X is the number of blanks in her attack. After attacking normally with Scarlet Witch, if she did not inflict one or more wounds, she may attack normally one additional time.

MAGICAL DEFENSE
When Scarlet Witch is attacked by an opponent's figure that does not have the Magical Defense special power, the most wounds Scarlet Witch can take for this attack is one.

Not dead set on the powers as-is. I know some liked the Reality Warp power:

ALTERED REALITY
Once per game, after a player takes a turn, you may undo all events of that turn. Everything reverts to the state it was in prior to that player turn. You may then choose for the player to take their turn again as normal or end that turn immediately.

I'm just not sure the potential of misremembering where figures were placed, glyphs, who had what wounds or marker amounts etc. is worth it. But if you feel that's more interesting than Healing Hex(re-use from Enchantress), we can hash it out. I feel Healing Hex gives some nice synergy with Vision for using those blanks(may need to modify the wording a tad to ensure it works), and is a solid power for the faction as healer(more so than what I had proposed for Beast).

Either way, aiming for about 330 here.

I liked Alter Reality. But Healing Hex is also a great fit here so I don’t mind the design as is.

Altered Reality is fun, but definitely a nightmare to remember. Healing Hex definitely fits well with Vision.

Altering Avenger is very strong, that’s the power to watch out for.

Yeah, we could probably change the +6 to a +4 instead, given the range is 4 clear sight spaces for easy remembering. Was trying to mirror Vision's Reactive Phasing numbers of 12 or higher, +6 when non-adjacent etc.

That said, that's definitely going to be the bulk of her cost. Given she can't heal herself, and she'll be a prime target, it's going to make pairing her with the likes of Vision, Quicksilver, and Cap all the more important to keep her standing.

Yeah, I remember being initially worried about Altered Reality from the memory angle.

I do feel like Altering Avenger needs some sort of explanation as to what happens when you “negate” a normal move or normal attack, just cause that’s an entirely new mechanic.

Yeah, negating a movement or attack did strike me as new territory (but also pretty intuitive)?

I worry a tad about the healing combining with the likes of Wiccan, Doctor Fate (JL), and Raven, especially if you throw in a healing spell or two. Since that one's not factional at all either, I worry that she'll be pulled a lot more strongly to the Magical Defense faction than the Avengers faction.

Totally ok with her playing well with the Magical Defense types, as she should. Not sure what to do there to make it not the best pairing, but if those are constantly coming up as a potential issue/tipping point for newer Magical Defense figures, we may want to just re-take a look at those unreleased designs and adjust.

Not worried about the healing spell, giving up an attack for a wound is pretty eh. Never felt the Med-Kit Utility Glyph was worth taking, and it's about the same, just with a 20 point per use cost.

Those shouldn't constantly come up as potential issue/tipping points for new Magical Defense figures, only when they specifically have a healing/wound moving effect. It's specifically building strength on strength that raises red flags for me.

"Wizard is the healer" isn't really such a rare trope that it should be a big balance concern.

That said, I don't tend to think of Wanda as healing a lot? Not outside of her abilities, but it doesn't feel like an iconic thing for her.

I can't seem to find it now, but when I was first looking for art for her card, I came across a post on some forum that showed examples in the comics of everything she's done. She's healed Cap's jaw, she fixed Professor X's paralysis in House of M, and there were a couple of other examples. Personally, you could look at it as more she's altering reality thus healing them that way, but that's a bit of a cheat. Hard to say for sure, but she has a healing power in MUA3 so there's that.

All that said, it's hard to pick out things to do with her on the probability manipulation and reality warping front that haven't already been captured in her current 2 versions. So going for more of a pure support route with higher threat level offensively, felt more fitting for an Avengers version.

As I said though before, not dead set on this power set. Could go a different route if we feel there's something better.
