Re: The Book of Banshee - Design Phase
Some similar issues with Flying and movement.

Re: The Book of Banshee - Design Phase
I actually think this is a really good edit by Matt Helm.

Re: The Book of Banshee - Design Phase
Sherm again has some issues with move number. I am thinking 6 was right on and then make Matt's edit to Sonic Flying. I know Sonic Scream is a direct copy of Canary Cry, which I am pretty sure is based off of Mimring, so I think we are good there.

So to summarize new OP would look like this:

Re: The Book of Banshee - Design Phase
Looks good. I'd say an initial playtest can help find a ballpark cost for him.

Re: The Book of Banshee - Design Phase
[quote]NAME = BANSHEE
SECRET IDENTITY = SEAN CASSIDY SPECIES = MUTANT UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = AGENT PERSONALITY = DARING SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 130? SONIC SCREAM SPECIAL ATTACK Range Special. Attack 4. Choose 4 spaces in a straight line from Banshee. All figures on those spaces, and all figures adjacent to those 4 spaces are affected by Banshee's Sonic Scream Special Attack. Banshee is not affected by Sonic Scream Special Attack. Roll 4 attack dice once for all affected figures. Each figure rolls defense dice separately. Symbiotes roll 1 less fewer defense die against Sonic Scream Special Attack. SONIC FLYING If Banshee used his Flying special power for his entire move this turn, instead of attacking, he may move 3 additional spaces.[quote] Just minor stuff. Order of the sentences in SSSA is for clarity (we should clarify that he is not affected before rolling dice for affected figures). There are probably other cards that have this backwards as well, but if no one else is concerned, it can be left alone. |

Re: The Book of Banshee - Design Phase
I actually did look those up while reading this conversation. If Supergirl is based on Silver Surfer, it's only very loosely, so I'm not sure if Silver Surfer is really part of the conversation here.
That said, the wording here needs to be consistent with the wording on Supergirl, so we need to figure out which wording we prefer and make sure we're consistent across the board on both this card and Supergirl's. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Banshee - Design Phase
Since tickle is helping me out with Bad Cop I can probably pick up the initial on this one.

Re: The Book of Banshee - Design Phase
Or I can do this one since I haven't started the Bad Cop test if you want to just do your own design. I thought I would have more time yesterday but I had to mow our yard. Either way works for me.

Re: The Book of Banshee - Design Phase
C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Banshee - THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them. Pass - MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game. Pass - BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding. Pass - SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak. Pass - POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any. Pass - FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play. Very Much So! - FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against. Pass - DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting. Heck yes! He may be a better Agent draft than Mutant draft, but that is probably due to the lack of Agent heroes. - USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable. Pass - STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. Pass All Tests Run On: HYDRA Base: Gehenna Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Pass - What should be the unit's point value? 140 feels good moving forward - Give a brief summary. His special attack is almost always the best option unless he gets height.
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Pass - What should be the unit's point value? 140 - Give a brief summary. Banshee can really own some squads even with Beat Cops dying for each other when he does his scream. Units: Banshee VS Beat Cops x 2 (130)
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 140 feels good. - Give a brief summary. Banshee still owned the squads, just not as badly here. Units: Banshee VS Street Thugs (150)
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Army Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 140-150 - Give a brief summary. Banshee had a good game here, taking out Avalance and Toad on his own. Units: Banshee, Nick Fury, Dum Dum Dugan, Black Widow and SHIELD Agents x3 (910) VS Magneto, Avalance, Toad, Blob and Quicksilver (930)
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Army Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 140 - Give a brief summary. I didn't play him nearly as aggressively here and he didn't feel as over costed. Units: Professor X, Banshee, Storm, Nightcrawler, Angel and Beast (1010) VS Captain America, Giant-Man, Wasp, Iron Man Mark I, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man (official) (1000)
Spoiler Alert!
