Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Mary Batson) - Design Phase
4 for A and 2 for B so far with SirG and Scapey still to chime in.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Mary Batson) - Design Phase
I'll give Scapey today to chime in, but it's looking pretty solid for A right now. Hopefully I'll be able to test this weekend!

OK, sounds like A ftw then. Of LP and quozl, is anybody going to death nay anything if this isn't simplified or were you just stating preferences?

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Mary Batson) - Design Phase
Personally, I don't know yet. If it's well received by the playtesters, I'll pass it through.

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Mary Batson) - Design Phase
If it fails the fun test, I won't be proposing it move forward.

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Mary Batson) - Design Phase
I'm concerned about both the fun test and the theme test.

Re: The Book of Captain Marvel (Mary Batson) - Design Phase
C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE TEST UNIT (MARY MARVEL) - THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them. PASS - MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game. PASS - BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding. PASS - SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak. PASS - POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any. PASS - FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play. PASS - FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against. PASS - DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting. PASS - USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable. PASS - STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. PASS Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 330-340. - Give a brief overview. Captain Marvel mostly relies on straight up dice (for all the worries of complexity, she’s a pretty basic slugger), and her results were a bit up and down. She also had some better and some worse match ups here. Overall, 330-340 feels closest.
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 300ish? - Give a brief overview. Captain Marvel had rough sledding here, never winning initiative when she needed to in order to heal any wounds. She got her attack bonus once. Map: Custom Units: Captain Marvel vs. Science Police x4 (340)
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 300ish? - Give a brief overview. Captain Marvel used her attack bonus once, but one attack per turn versus three decent attacks per turn wasn’t enough to keep up. Map: Custom Units: Captain Marvel vs. SHIELD Agents x3 (330)
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Army Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 330 holds up. - Give a brief overview. Despite the margin of victory, it was really Billy and Oracle earning big points here. Mary went in early and softened them up a bit, but she wasn’t the reason for the big win. Map: Custom Units: Captain Marvel (Mary) (330), Captain Marvel (Billy) (360), Billy Batson (60), Oracle (110), Wonder Girl (140) (1,000) vs. Black Adam (380), Ragdoll (100), Hush (220), Icicle (150), Deadshot (150) (1,000)
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Army Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 330 feels great. - Give a brief overview. Mary Marvel did a bit here, certainly more than unlucky rolling Supergirl (who had terrible defense and special attack rolls both). I think she held up to her points, but definitely didn’t exceed them! Map: Custom Units: Captain Marvel (Mary) (330), Supergirl (320), Vixen (150) (800) vs. Darkseid (380), Blood Demons x2 (320), Weather Wizard (100) (800)
Spoiler Alert!
