Eh, either/or. I've since finished Cowboy Bebop, and the ending was very good. Still, it doesn't have much that really blew me away. Probably would've been a good show to grow up with. Nice and simple, doesn't insult your intelligence or waste time on typical overused anime tropes.

I just really like the feel of the crew, they play off each other nicely. I could have done for a more overarching story, but the episodic nature allowed them to flip between fun and lighthearted, and Dark and serious. You laugh, you cry, its just a great time, no need for complex plots or weird tropes, just good fun. I actually like the ending, it sad but also fulfilling in a way.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?

I finished Preacher, which I'm pretty sure I discussed above, last week. Since then I realized that second season of Dark Matter is really letting me down, so I've decided to set that show aside for a while. Instead, I finally got around to starting The Magicians.

I liked the book. I think the show does a really good job of porting the world, as I remember it from a few years ago, to the small screen. I'm about 4 episodes in and really enjoying it. I wonder, though, if they can sustain it. The book was slender, and its sequel was not as good, and was slender as well.

Fingers crossed. . .

Chime In

Bebop was my first anime and it's good. I think there are animes that are better and that I have enjoyed more but Bebop still made me cry the hardest out of animes I've watched.

Just finished Parastye: the Maxim which was good but its conflict got pretty muddled as it wrapped itself up. Watching Sense8 now. I'm intrigued only about an episode and a half in. Some of the stuff with Nomi hits me on some deep levels. (For anyone who knows the show and my general story this should not come as a surprise)

My girls and I binge watched all of season 1 of Stranger Things today. We thought it was awesome and the girls are mad that we have to wait for season 2.

I started watching it last night and ended up watching 5 episodes, staying up until 3 in the morning. I wanted to share it with my son, so he and I watched the first four today, with plans to finish tomorrow. What an awesome show!

That's awesome!

I graduated from high school in 1985, so this show is right in my wheelhouse and brings back a lot of memories.

Yep, I was playing AD&D as a 10 year-old back in 1983, so it sucked me in from the very beginning.

I want to say I got my first taste about the same time akden(also ten). I believe I did not get really into it until three years later though(when I found other nerds to game with me).
Also there was the big D&D freak out and many parents banned it.

That reminds me of the end of Season 1 of Flash. We had DVR'd the show and started watching toward the end of the season and my son growing up in the on demand world cried at the end of the season cliff hanger when he realized he can't find out what happens until the next season starts after the summer. He was so upset.

I just remember him saying..."No, no, no. They can't just end there. It's not fair."

At least they made another season.

So many of my favorites were cancelled early. Thanks Fox.

That's the reason we DVR season one's of series. If it gets picked up for a second season we will watch the first season the summer before and head straight into the second season. My wife kept having shows she loved get canceled just as she was getting attached. Our DVR is currently full of the first season of both Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. We've never seen an episode. Now we are cautious about Supergirl because now on CW is it truly a second season or is it CW's first season to see if it works. I believe story wise it's a continuation but financially speaking it's a first season.

Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.
