Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I don't like the idea of soldier synergy for them at all. If we ever get around to G.I. Joe there could be a big influx of soldiers and soldier synergy and I don't think any of them should play nice with Daleks.
I also would not have their move be 3, 4 is considered our unofficial minimum. Reason being that we were once working on some official building and they had interior stairs that required a move of 4 to go up or down. I know these guys have flying so they can just fly up to the top of buildings, but 3 move just seems like it could result in some unforeseen problems. |

Re: Dysole's Doctor Who Drafts
Okay I'm supposed to be going to sleep but this seems like way more fun.
I've been told Draftable DOs are on their way so I'm holding off on the TARDIS for that, but overall it seems like we're more or less on the same page here. I like the idea of each Doctor having their own personality, myself.
Lethal Strike really is an interesting concept. I must admit the idea of Daleks stealth dodging around is funny. This may be my favorite of the bunch. If I understand it correctly, they can move 8 spaces when unseen, but only 1 space when seen? That's really cool and very similar to C3G's Jason. Well I say the Angels are my favorite but this one is too. Really pulls off the feel of a conniving manipulator. Throw in a Tissue Compression Eliminator SA and this would be a great Ainley Master. I've struggled with the Cybermen for a while now. 9 times out of 10 they don't convert someone on the spot. They drag them back to some sort of conversion device and suit them up. Straight-up zombie conversion just feels wrong to me. These guys are scary, but they should be. Maybe with C3G, Tiny Stealth could be added? I'd bump them up to height 4 and get rid of climb probably. Guess it all depends on the mini used, but they aren't usually that short, right? Honestly I'd rather have a Great Intelligence that could control Yeti, Snowmen, and Whispermen. The idea of a Dr Simeon that can stride into battle with the Whispermen and basically jump around from body to body is cool though. What if he could somehow function as an extension of the GI? Bib Fortuna from HoSS has a power where he can use 1 power off of the card of his "boss" that I've always thought is really cool. Last edited by MrNobody; August 27th, 2018 at 01:59 AM. |

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I don't know why A3n doesn't like the no OM removal power, seems like a really good theme fit to me. They have such a single minded focus on their mission that the idea that Joker can come along and distract or confuse them seems unlikely.

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
The only figures I can think of with powers that can prevent OM movement or removal are Vulcan and Silk Specter. Those powers both reperesent personality quirks or emotional state, so giving something similar to the Daleks doesn’t seem to off base from a theme perspective. It’s worth mentioning, though, that both of those cards also have good mechanical reasons for having that ability—Vulcan has it to prevent you from avoiding the downside of Power-Mad, and Silk Specter has it because the Watchmen set has a lot of OM removal that can affect your own units in it.
Since OM removing powers in general are kind of all over the place thematically (from shakedowns to ice blasts), I’d want a good mechanical reason for the Daleks to be able to avoid it. Maybe give one of the Doctors a negotiation-style power? The interplay there might make single-minded feel more justified. |

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I guess I’m not particularly attached to that power, just that I’m worried they’ll feel bland otherwise. My big worry for these guys right now is that they just won’t have anything exciting going for them. Maybe we could brainstorm a replacement power that represents the personality of a Dalek?

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I’ve always liked the idea of Negotiation or something similar on a Doctor. Tenth Doc giving you one chance kind of thing.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

EDIT: Another point; I think the Doctor should be the counter to the Daleks, not the other way around. |

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
Honestly, I think 3 Move with a strong movement ability like flying feels interesting, unique and fun - I'd hate to loose that and end up with a less unique design. Honestly, if there are mechanics we haven't created yet that could cause problems, we should design those mechanics to allow more flexibility, not restrict design space.

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
Flight denial powers already exist as do elevation changes that would make life miserable for a three move figure. Shadowcat + Count Vertigo basically owns an entire army of three move Daleks on half the maps out there.

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
It's called a counter-draft. I don't like the idea of eliminating what will be a cool idea in most match-ups simply because one specific pairing (with a barely used unit, mind) gives it a headache. There are plenty of really crappy match-ups in the game - it will happen when it gets this broad.
