Character Bio - Biological son of the prestigious super-villain Captain Boomerang, Owen Mercer was unaware of his heritage until his father contacted him while he was working in a movie theater. Owen discovered his relationship with his father, and that he possessed high levels of speed. Soon after, his father died in a shooting, and Owen took up the mantle of Captain Boomerang, although unsure about his villain identity.

SPEED BURST
Before using his Returning Boomerang special power, Captain Boomerang may immediately move up to 4 spaces. When moving with Speed Burst, Captain Boomerang will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

RETURNING BOOMERANG
If Captain Boomerang does not inflict one or more wounds when attacking an opponent's non-adjacent figure with his normal attack, he may attack that figure one additional time with his normal attack, even if he is engaged during the additional attack.

The timing of Speed Burst and Returning Boomerang could be confusing.

Scapey, would it work thematically for Speed Burst to trigger when he does inflict wounds? That would fix the issue of two powers triggering simultaneously.

Or just give him the option of using Speed Burst in place of Returning Boomerang for more tactical options

SPEED BURST
After attacking a non-adjacent figure with a his normal attack, if Captain Boomerang did not inflict any wounds, he may immediately move up to 4 spaces instead of using his Returning Boomerang power. Captain Boomerang will not take leaving engagement attacks while moving with Speed Burst.

The word immediately is in place in Speed Burst but not in Returning Boomerang, so in essence it should work that you can move him and then attack again. But you're absolutely right, it could get confusing.

When I originally presented the design, this was in place. However, I had discussed this with Tickle at the time and it seemed like allowing him to move when he inflicted wounds would be quite powerful, as the effect would be similar to that of Hasbro's Silver Surfer. He attacks, wounds, then gets out of threat range against some figures.

This is something I would like to avoid. Speed Burst was designed to be able to be used with Returning Boomerang.

Well if he has to be within range 5 to start with, then can back off 4 spaces after wounding someone, that's about the same threat range as someone with a normal range of 9, which hasn't been a problem at all.

Also, it's not like Silver Surfer, who can do this and do it with a larger range and attack, is broken at all.

Seems to work Q. I wasn't sure the intention Scapey, but now I do and Q's wording seems to make it work.

If Boomer didn't have height advantage for the first attack, the speed burst can possibly get it for him for the second attack.
