Re: Poll: Favorite C3G Design by LD: Lord Pyre
I must admit I haven't played too many of LP's Indy designs. I did get familiar with Masahiro Arashi when working on my Yakuza Enforcers though and found I really liked him. So he gets my Indy vote. Then my 2nd vote is a little harder to determine. Really like both Ozy & Comedian from the Watchmen set as I use both quite a bit. Even though I haven't use him much recently, I think I'm going to go with Batman Beyond for my pick though. Just a fun card that I often toss into random armies or vigilante themed ones. Always kind of hoped a old man Bruce would get carded to kind of provide him some kind of back-up/guidance. Like maybe he could reset the X for him and/or bond with him so you don't have to reveal an OM on his card to take a turn with him. I've played him with Zemo so you never have to reveal an OM on his card and it's pretty fun.

Re: Poll: Favorite C3G Design by LD: Lord Pyre
Didn't follow the rules. One was supposed to be indy.
I will vote Kaine as well. Niteowl would have been my second but I forgot he's not really indy. So I haven't played any of your Indy designs. Though I'm told this Robot fella is quite nice. Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: Poll: Favorite C3G Design by LD: Lord Pyre
Oh dang. Missed that wrinkle. I did cast one vote for a non-Marvel design and one vote for a non-DC design, so surely that counts for something?
Catgirl and... I'll go with Allen the Alien, then. |

I mean, Catgirl's non-canon. And you got the right LD, so you're worlds ahead of some of us ....
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Poll: Favorite C3G Design by LD: Lord Pyre
Alrighty, memory lane time. See if I can pick some favorites! As a designer, I personally always try to capture the theme of the character first and foremost, before tweaking the mechanics as needed. So in that regard in general I only design characters I know well and have read a lot of. If a character FEELS right to me, regardless of usefulness or factional mechanics, that’s an absolute win to me.
Spoiler Alert!
Picking favorites is always tough. But first choice (And Indy choice!) I'll pick Brit. He might not be the best leader out there, but he's just solid. I love the simplicity of the design, the subtle theme nod with crash landing, and the fact that he's a great clean up figure since he's so hard to put down. I've always enjoyed playing him. Second pick will have to be Ozymandias. How do you portray on a heroscape card a power to represent the "smartest man in the world" who's always a step ahead of his opponents? Right here folks. He took a ton of work from a ton of people, but we absolutely nailed him. |

Re: Poll: Favorite C3G Design by LD: Lord Pyre
If we could do Spoiler again, I'd push for Vigilante on her. It fits what she is and it gives her Tim Drake bonding, which seems right.

Last call for votes here. I'll call it closed in a day or two, then I'm putting this on hiatus for a bit.

Re: Poll: Favorite C3G Design by LD: Lord Pyre
I know I'm late here, but after this weekend I felt I needed to share my
Indy design is tough, so many good picks, but I'm leaning toward two: Lady Death and Omni-man. Before this weekend, it's OM in a landslide, but LD really made a strong case. After playing them both in back to back days, it's gotta be Lady Death. For mainstream, it's gotta be Ozymandias. Semi-Retired C3G Hero (and first Official Member of the C3G Target Audience!) The correct way to add C3G playtests to posts. My favorite day EVER on heroscapers. DISCLAIMER: C3G claims no ownership of the characters or artwork used for C3G customs.
