The Book of Magenta
The Book of Magenta C3G DC WAVE 38 FLASH FORWARD Comic PDF Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the The Flash set. Its model number and name are #057 / Magenta. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio - Francis Kane has the ability to control and generate magnetic fields, though she struggled to control it for a while due to an evil split personality. Wally West (as Kid Flash) helped her with that. Kane took the superhero name Magenta, and the two dated for some time. Eventually the two split, and Magenta's evil split personality started to resurface. She joined up with the Rogues, and fought repeatedly against Wally West's Flash. _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of Magenta (Breathing Period)
NAME = MAGENTA
SECRET IDENTITY = FRANCES KANE SPECIES = METAHUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = ROGUE PERSONALITY = CONFLICTED SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 5 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 130 MAGNETIC THROW DEFENSE 17 If an opponent's figure within 5 clear sight spaces of Magenta targets a figure you control for an attack, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 17 or higher, that figure cannot attack this turn and you may place it on any empty space within 4 spaces of its current placement. After that opponent's figure is placed, it receives a wound. Thrown figures do not take any leaving engagement attacks. ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE DISRUPTION When an opponent rolls the 20-sided die for a figure they control within 5 clear sight spaces of Magenta, you may subtract 1 from the roll, or 3 from the roll if the opponent's figure is an Android, Cyborg, or has the Steel Skin special power. Re: The Book of Magenta (Breathing Period)
Here we are with another Rogue. This one was worked on a fair bit months back. The first power is a reuse with a higher number.
I believe @Spidey'tilIDie said he has this miniature. Can you provide pictures ASAP, Spidey? Like Superheroes and Comics?

Re: The Book of Magenta (Breathing Period)
She's going to be super passive with that powerset, but the Rogues definitely aren't an A-list faction so that doesn't bother me.
Feels kind of strange that Pulse Disruption doesn't really work against the Flash. Really like the power as a concept though. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The Book of Magenta (Breathing Period)
Super high numbered d20 rolls aren't very fun. Like 80% of the time she won't be using it, so it almost feels wasted.
Could we maybe tweak the power a little so we can lower the roll? Aside from that it looks like a good design. |

Re: The Book of Magenta (Breathing Period)
I’m a big fan of passive designs, this one is pretty cool too. 110 seems pretty high since neither of her powers will trigger very often. Also don’t forget to update the wording Magnetic throw, it still has Cosmic Boy’s name

Re: The Book of Magenta (Breathing Period)
Yay, another Rogue! Magenta looks pretty good. She's fairly dependent on a lucky d20 but the powers are thematic.
You still reference Cosmic Boy in the SP, btw. |

Re: The Book of Magenta (Breathing Period)
It'd be pretty straightforward to add a Superspeed clause to the second power for Flash effectiveness.
I get what LP is saying about a hard to hit roll, but in this case I think it fits quite well. The power triggers each and every time anybody within 5 of her is attacked, and while it may only succeed with these odds 1/5 times, Magenta doesn't have to sacrifice a turn or attack to use it and she can act as passive defense for her squadron. Re: The Book of Magenta (Breathing Period)
Is MTD a reuse? If not, I think we can trim it down and make it more concise.

Quote:
I’ll vouch for that power being good by the way. It’s passive and in smaller games you can literally get your whole army in its range. Cos’s is a bit lower but it feels like I’m hitting it all the time. I think she’ll actually come in higher than 110. Pair her with D20 boosters and she’s a cheap generalist protector type. Oh and I’m not a huge fan of 2 of her powers having a range of 4 and 1 having a range of 5. |

Re: The Book of Magenta (Breathing Period)
I think you'll definitely roll for it a lot and it's a pretty annoying/strong effect so I wouldn't want to see the roll too low.
Thematically, I've always seen her as more of a reactionary/leave me alone and I'll leave you alone type, so I think it really fits for her to be more along for the ride with the Rogues, but if you get in her hair, she gets pissed. I agree with the value of keeping all of her powers the same range, though. Range 4 seems like a fit. I'm totally on board with this direction otherwise as an accurate reflection of the character. Edit: However, if you wanted to consider a third power at all that might take some concerns into play, you could have a boosting effect based on wounds on her card. As the personality reflects here, she's conflicted (she used to date Wally and be on the heroic side, then turned, but still feels iffy about it). She's much more likely to unleash her powers if she feels threatened/hurt. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
