Update: Trex's terrain Castle Dice Tower Tutorial11-10-16
CASTLE DICE TOWER TUTORIAL Materials you'll need to do this tutorial:-PDF file templates(shown below) -scissors -Hot glue and Hot glue gun -a pen or pencil -utility knife -cardboard/foamboard or any other material you wish to make the tower out of. We'll start by getting you some simplified template PDF's that you can print out. This is how they look. Here are the PDF links I made for the tutorial http://download2141.mediafire.com/hq...wer+Page+1.pdf http://download1069.mediafire.com/64...wer+Page+2.pdf Next you'll want to cut them out Next you'll want to trace the templates out on the surface of the material you'll be using. I am using the composite cardboard that I make my towers out of, but you could also use foamboard, or regular corrugated cardboard. You don't want to use the thin type of cardboard in things like a fedex box. You want it to be double or triple corrugated walled. Here are what mine look like traced out on a bunch of card board scraps. You'll notice that the side wall template and the smaller ramp template say X2 on them. That is because you'll want to trace out two of those pieces. Next you need to cut out the card board pieces, For regular cardboard a utility knife works great, I have to cut my composite pieces with a scroll saw. For foam, there are other options such as a hot wire foam cutter tool. Here they are all cut out. Once they are all cut out, it is time for assembly. Take the hot glue gun and glue the back tower plate to one of the side pieces. It is important to glue the back panel on the inside of the side piece.( as shown below) This is how it should look. If you do it the other way the tower template will not fit together properly. Next step is gluing in the bottom ramp to the two assembled pieces. (Shown below) It is important that you make the ramp steep enough to allow the dice to fall into the tray at a decent speed. If you follow the picture it should suffice. Lining up the bottom of the ramp with the bottom of the side wall should also keep the dice from getting under your bottom ramp. Next we will be gluing in the middle and top dice ramps. (Shown below) it is important to keep the angles steep enough to keep the dice rolling through at a decent rate. 45 degree angle should do ok. Eyeballing it, or comparing it to the picture should take care of you. Next glue on the other side plate. Glue it to the back tower plate and to the sides of the ramps. Quickly lay down a bead of hot glue on those ends and push it on to be even with the other side. Next you will glue in the tower face plate and tray face plate pieces. It is important that they are glued on the inside edges of the side pieces.(as shown below.) Next flip the tower upside down, and lay a bead of hot glue along the tower back plate, side plates and tray front plate. Then push the tray bottom piece into place. It should look like the picture below. You can now reinforce any seams you wish in your tower with additional hot glue. Anywhere a joint meets you can put additional glue to make it stronger. I smooth out the glue after application to get rid of any excess to keep the tower looking cleaner. You could use a scrap piece of cardboard as to not burn yourself when wiping excess away. Here are some shots of the tower unpainted but finished. I did finish this tower with some simple gloss black spraypaint and some utgar decals made from my wifes cricut machine, but did not take any picture of it before I gave it away to @Leaf_It at our NHSD tournament. If you could snap a shot of the tower and post it for these guys that would be great Leaf_it. I hope you guys enjoy this tower, It works quite well and is quite easy to build. This one only took me about 15 minutes. Next tutorial as requested by @Johngee will be a tower made from a pringles can. Re: Update: Trex's terrain Castle Dice Tower Tutorial11-10-1
Thanks
@Leaf_It
, I hope the tower serves you well. It was made just to make sure that my template worked. If any of you guys used, and or liked my tutorial let me know. If you have any questions, let me know. Also, if you have any other tutorials you'd like me to throw out here, let me know. This template was very simple, but very effective. The dice roll in it well. If there is any other theme, you'd like me to attempt to make a template for, throw it at me. I myself generally just make whatever comes to mind and have made enough towers and bowls to have a general feel of what I'm doing.

Update: Trex's terrain Zombie Dice Tower 1-19-17
ZOMBIE DICE TOWER
This Tower is a combination of a Dice Tower and a Mini Playing card holder. It also has some little compartments for different tokens and dice storage. I created it for Zombicide and Zombicide Black Plague games. I got tired of having all the pieces scattered across the table, or someone accidentally bumping a card deck and spilling it all over. I like using Dice Towers and figured I'd combine them. This tower could also be used for any games that have mini playing card decks.(Imperial Assault, X wing are the two I have that come to mind.) On the backside of the tower there are 4 mini card storage spaces. The top two are for the Equipment card deck you pull from when a character searches a room and the zombie spawn deck. These have a gun symbol and a Z symbol on them. The bottom two likewise slots are for discarding those same cards. The other slots hold the objective, spawn, noise markers, and misc other tokens. This is something that also saves a little table space. I will be doing towers that have similar ideas for Imperial Assault/Xwing with their command cards and damage cards/tokens, Rum and bones with their tokens and tide decks, My ninja turtle game, Magic AOTP/Heroscape (The magic tower should be able to hold a sorcery deck with a discard stack slot. I hope you guys enjoy. This should help keep my mini games more organized. Glad I could share. Re: Update: Trex's Terrain Zombie Dice Tower 1-19-17
Thanks guys, It took a minute to measure out all of the different pieces, and cover all the different things I needed to make it viable for the table but it should work pretty good. I may eventually make an Arena of the Planeswalkers one for a give a way that has slots for your sorcery deck.
EDIT: I know many of you were expecting to see the next prize for our map building contest. That one will require my Jigsaw. Which I need to get back from my brother. So, unfortunately I didn't get to put that one together on my day off, but you guys will love it when it happens. Re: Update: Trex's Terrain Zombie Dice Tower 1-19-17
that Zombicide tower is ingenious! It would be interesting to see what people on Boardgamegeek thought of that. You should post it as an image on the Zombicide page for that website. Maybe you found your new calling.

Re: Update: Trex's Terrain Zombie Dice Tower 1-19-17
I plan on doing likewise towers for all my games that roll dice, have tokens, and card decks. I seen another person on youtube compliment your tower I made, gave me the warm and fuzzies.
