Thanks for all the input. It helps a lot just getting into the game for ideas of how big the armies can be for what size space is available.

More often than not, I'm testing scenario ideas on new maps with my son. In those cases, we tend to use 300 - 350 pt armies.

The larger the map, the larger the army in most cases.

Good luck finding the perfect size!

well me and my friends tend to play huge epic whole weekend long battles... i'm talking 6 on 3 castle seiges using 8 core sets and 6 castle sets of terrain...

we generally use about 3500 to 4000 points for attackers and 2000 points or so for defenders

ZODGILLA! Woo who?
How we roll.

We play an average of 1200 points.
No matter how many points the scenario calls for we use one rack of order markers for every 400 points worth of draft. After we draft we divide the army into companies, of any point value the individual desires, and then assign the order markers to each company. A company does not have to be 400p, just as long as all the companies together do not exceed the army draft total. (For a faster more furious battle we get one rack of order markers for every 300p worth of draft.)

Welcome to the boards, standupkeitaro!

On behalf of our mass assaulting and weekend gaming community I extend to you a laurel and a hearty handshake.

As for your post... I think I need my jaw-drop smiley back

It really depends on the board if you ask me. I am used to playing big boards, always 2 Masters + other sets. I normally go for a 1v1 game between 500 and 750 point armies each. We usually make it a rule that you should try to keep armies even between squads/heros, but it can lean a little on either side, just no starting with all heros/all squads. I am more customed to big battles, lately we have been playing 800-1000 point armies each, but they do take a bit longer to play.
