No, insofar as it would only mean adding on spaces to existing maps.

How would people feel about this: if requested, both starting zones may have an additional 7-hex tile added on. This zone may be used for additional army space, so as to allow greater flexibility in large-numbered armies. No more than the 7-hex tile may be added, and it must be attached in a symmetrical location to both players' starting zones.
I think this would only encourage multiple-common swarm type armies. The people complaining about the 24-hex starting zone too restrictive are the same people that want those seven extra grids spaces for x9 Stingers.

Yeah, nine squads of Stingers. It works out to 540 points, 27 tiles, and it's what I would be bringing if you allowed this seven-hex add-on. or 7 squads of 4th Line. That works too. That's 28 tiles.

I don't know about you, but I think it would take a lot of the strategy away - it encourages exploitation of the inherent advantage of multiple common ranged armies. I vote nay on Prop 7 (7 extra starting tiles).

Re: Raleigh, NC Tourney: Son of The Returnening

Greetings all. I went by Amazing Tales today to see about signing up for this tournament and was told that it had not been finalized yet and to check this site. I can make it on the 17th or 24th. Do you guys always meet at 5pm on Sundays? How long do you normally play each night?

Re: Raleigh, NC Tourney: Son of The Returnening

Hello, Oliver, and welcome to the boards! We have finalized the tournament for Saturday the 17th. We play pretty much every Sunday, though I believe the shop will be closed on the 28th, so that one's out.

5pm is more of a rough starting time-- I try to show up around 4, some people come even earlier than that, and it's fine if you want to show up later, too. We're usually wrapping it up by 9 or 9:30. You can drop by the NS 'Scapers thread for additional information, and discussions not pertaining to the tournament itself.

There has been a question raised as to whether or not January is the best time for another tournament. This is what we'll do: everyone who does want to do the tournament on January the 17th, please confirm that you're on board for that date. If we haven't got at least eight confirmed attendees by the 3rd (two weeks before the tournament), then we'll reschedule.

That is not dead which can eternal lie.

Exactly. My vote is for the regular 24 hexes.
