Re: Bay Area Brawl - NHSD'10

The first solution that comes to mind, though potential inelegant in practice, is to disallow opposing the same army more than once, just as you cannot play the same army more than once. To ensure this happens, you would pair up opponents and assign maps before drawing armies (which I thought should be the proper order anyway) and then as each player draws their army, their opponent makes shore the army drawn is one they have not faced previously, forcing a re-draw if they have. Might cause multiple re-draws in later rounds, but it'd prevent players from shooting themselves in the foot by making them play against their own army multiple times.

Thanks tshill. You're definitely going to be attending by the way, right?

Re: Bay Area Brawl - NHSD'10

I will definitely be there and I gotta say I like the idea of your record and your armies record being evenly weighed. There's a little bit of luck involved to some extent in who will draw your army, but it's fun to try and make an army that's so solid it doesn't matter who plays it. You've got to make an army that basically plays itself. Everyone get your Q9 counters ready because I'm sure he'll be showing up in force!

Re: Bay Area Brawl - NHSD'10

I had just been putting army ideas together with some free time, and they were pretty diverse to Carnival's suggestion to the contrary, so I just posted them up.

Re: Bay Area Brawl - NHSD'10

Wow, you've came up with alot. Haha, I only came up with one army that I've liked.

Roman Legos x3 - (150)
MBS - (200)
MDG - (300)
10th Regiment x2 - (430)

It's jsut that i might need to borrow a squads of 10th.

I'll need to start working on more army builds though.

Got my Nakitas

Re: Bay Area Brawl - NHSD'10

I've thought up some while waiting for the laser to do it's thing at work.

4thx3/MDG/MBS/Romansx2 460
Othkurik/Raelin 1.0/GSWx4 460
MRTx4/Raelin 1.0/BA/Theracus/Isamu 460
KA/Raelin 1.0/Stingersx3/Ratsx2 460

And no Q9 (although Raelin makes several appearances.

Grimfang, your 10th build is 475. The build I posted with the 4th Is the right point total and adds a squad of 4th to arguably one of the best 400 point builds.

Re: Bay Area Brawl - NHSD'10

Oh oops. Haha, i guess i should've used a calculator. But thanks for the heads-up. Yeah, I guess I might have to go 4th over 10th.

The only thing is, I'm worried there actually might be a Q9, so I'm still skeptical as to whether I should bring this type of army. Then again, I'm only going to be using this army once, so...

I stand corrected!

I'd list some of my 460's now too but so far I've only come up with a few I want to play (play once that is!) that are competative.

Ok, here's one that is short points like Grimfangs, but he could add a third 10th squad & drop 2...this one is only short 20 points.

PK's x3 210
Concan 290
Sir Dupuis 440

I know it's not that original, but I'd like to get a chance to roll 8 or 9 attack dice with Dupuis once or twice!
