Re: The Spellbook of Tarot: Temperance (Public Playtesting)
Healing energy just has a lower barrier of entry than this one does. You cast this one and hope you might need it/want to use it, but Healing Energy can happen when you want, and doesn't inhibit movement.
30s definitely fine, it just looks like it, as is, is having not a lot of impact, ever. I'd wager most potential "swings" people are feeling are more based on figures it can play with (like Raven, pulling a wound of Nightwing who also heals a wound) rather than the actual strength of the spell. |

Re: The Spellbook of Tarot: Temperance (Public Playtesting)
General use healing powers are difficult to balance because they have such a wide range of potential impact, from healing someone like Superman to healing someone like Moon Knight. Those two wounds healed result in very different game impacts. Trying to get a fair point cost to split the difference without making it a must draft with the Superman side of the scale is hard to do and usually ends up making it not worth ever using on the Moon Knight side of things.
Personally I'm okay with 25-30 points here if you are happy with it. I envisioned the spells to be cheaper filler draft for the most part. There were intended to have that risk they never get played at all. So any time I see a spell getting up in price I get nervous about them being worth their points. I don't think I've drafted the Vapors spell since it passed, sure it could be worth using in the right set up but that's too much set up to really maximize and I personally don't like building a whole army around one spell use. I worry a bit here about that. With Fresh Foods talking about needing to design an army to best suit what it does, I wonder if that it will be useful in the intended army where the Tarot Card Deck figure wants to be drafted into. Or will that unit only ever see play outside of it's faction due to the nature of the spell effects/price per spell? Just something to consider. You could design future allies with power sets that match up well with the spell mechanics (like Cyclopes II does). |

Re: The Spellbook of Tarot: Temperance (VOTE for Editing)
Definitely have some worries about how the whole Tarot project will pan out overall. I think if you're bringing Xanadu and the spells, you are probably leaning into building around that, but I think having a bunch of smaller cheaper ones will be more fun in the long run. Magician was just kind of a big marquee one to start.
I propose a move to Final Editing @25 points. |

Re: The Spellbook of Tarot: Temperance (Final Editing)
See OP. Tag me (discord is best) if the wording changes from what's on the card.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |
