Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?

They need to make a Terminator movie that doesn't revolve around time travel and Arnold Schwarzenegger, or around Christian Bale walking around with an M4 in a generic desert.

They should just film a whole move that's based around the future scenes from the first movie.

I saw the movie today, and there is an after-credits scene, but it's nothing worth writing home about.

Yeah it was crazy alright Japes. Though I was hoping for a different ending but this one makes it crazier

Yeah about half way through you realize it isn't the movie I was expecting.

I thought it was going to be a movie where you have to spend the whole movie trying to decide if he did it or not...I think they had the reveal just a though too early as You didn't get to the point yet of having that unsure feeling set in. It was still a really good movie. and Yeah...CRAZY

Watched Chicken Run last night. I don't think we've seen it since it came out. I put it on for our 4 year old when I was checking for something on Netflix. It was like my 18 year old had never seen it. It was amusing watching him watch it.

I have been on a horror spree all week trying to find a good scary film. I've watched The Ring, The Grudge, Sinister, and V/H/S so far.

Honestly none of them quite lived up to expectations or were even all that scary, so I had to settle for rewatching The Shining again to make up for it. Man, they really don't make movies quite like this anymore.

It was neat in a sense that he kind of looked like an uncaring douche-bag for awhile, not even knowing that his wife had a best friend down the street, as well as some of his mannerisms. Then from her diary entries and flashbacks, it seemed like it could have been a natural progression to where he might do something to her. Things were great at first, then the entry of him getting laid off and spending money on a laptop and video games, set up the potential for him going into credit card debt later on. They even started out the movie with the last scene of him saying he'd like to crack her head open, and what are you thinking. But we didn't know that was the last scene, so it looked like he had those thoughts early on.

However, I think I realized that he really didn't do it at some point, but was trying to figure out who really did it. At one point I even thought her parents might have had something to do with it because they were "in debt" and maybe they could use it to make a lot of money with a new Amy book about her disappearing. But then I realized that Amy played me. The parents weren't assholes like she made them out to be in her diary, nor did she give them almost a million dollars from her trust like she said in the diary. That was her getaway money. Later on, I was so waiting for Nick to see that part in the diary and tell the detective to ask the parents about that money, and that it never really happened.

Then it became the story of how twisted Amy is and how she set this all up and how she is going to get away with it. She always had that ace in the hole with Desi, who she knew that she could call at any moment if she needed to. I loved it when she got robbed by that white trash at that hotel she was staying at, that was great.

The one thing that I was kind of hoping for at the end was in her getting busted and not Nick sticking with her because of a baby that wasn't his. Who knows, maybe they wanted to leave it open to a sequel?

Last week I was clicking through the channels one night and settled upon watching Brad Pitt flex his digitally enhanced muscles in "TROY" again. I do own the "Ultimate Collector's Edition - Director's Cut version," but was too lazy to get up and put it into the DVD player. Especially since I just wanted something on in the background while I was checking my eMails. Anyway, the next day I found at a Thrift Store for $2.oo the DVD of the 1961 film "The Colossus of Rhodes" with Rory Calhoun directed by Sergio Leone. Which I probably haven't seen since I saw in a theater when I was 11. But I've always been a big fan of the kitschy 'Hercules' genre of movies about the ancient world with a little mythology thrown in. I finally had a chance to watch it the other night. Although I personally have absolutely *NO* use for any Scary or Horror movies, I can agree with part of TAF's statement . . .

. . . but with a totally different meaning. The choreography and special effects technology has vastly improved in the last half century. It was still worth the price that I paid and good for a few laughs.

Yep, I watched Jupiter Ascending last night. Beautiful movie. Too bad everything else about it sucked.
