I like RotV better. It has much more varied terrain and a wider range of figures. SotM is too one dimensional for me. I hope the next MS has the variety of RotV mixed with the glut of common squads found in SotM.

This is not the path I thought.
This is not the place I sought.
This is not the dream I bought,
just a fever of fate I've caught.

Same here.

Things you might have missed in the rulebook:
Figures can't pass through friendly engaged figures.
Figures can't attack themselves.

I prefer the figure assortment in SotM over RotV, so I had to give SotM it's only vote.

No vote from me, as I liked SotM more, but as a master set for a beginning player RotV is better. SotM is more like an expansion than a master set, since it's a ton of swamp terrain and marro, with only a small spatter of other stuff to make it a master set. It very much works for setting a new era in Heroscape though. Sets up swamp/jungle stuff as the new primary setting and makes the Marro a huge and varied army.

chuynn Woo who?
The cool thing about SotM is it had all the commons that should have been in RotV.
I mean really are the Zettian Guards,Tarn Viking, & Izumi Samurai really unique squads, even the Airborne elite could have been a common squad.

As far as a great stater set go it RotV all the way.

Now if we could get them to put out a hive with a couple stingers in a booster pack that would be sweet

The more there are the greater the glory!!!!
