Thanks Aldin for the review and the Latin lesson.

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Worse? No. Better, really. It doesn't feel like it gets interrupted mid action. There is a conclusion after which, Lemony Snicket-ly, we find out that things didn't end as well for our heroes as we might have thought they did.

I just found out LS is the author and not the character of the book.

Just watched Captain America, Winter Soldier. I really enjoyed it. I especially loved the bit on the tombstone.

Robert Duvall is so good in so many flics that its hard to pick one. One of my favorites of his is Tender Mercies, where he plays a burnt out country singer who recovers with the help of a good woman and a new band just starting out.

O.M.G. Yes that's right and I haven't see it in years, even though I own it on DVD (maybe still up in the attic since our downsizing move a few years ago). Anyway, it's not a "GREAT" movie, but still a classic since it was George Lucas's first and the title shows up in several (if not all) of the Star Wars movies in subtle ways. Thanks
@ParaGoomba Slayer
for reminding me of that.

"Thas' whut ah git fer leadin' militia!"
--Confederate Officer, Raintree county Raintree County (1957) was a sort of poor man's northern counterpart to Gone With The Wind. It had a great cast starring Elizabeth Taylor, but was nothing but a turgid soap opera. Of course, some of us history buffs would call GWTW itself that. But I finally got to see it (except for the first half hour) on Turner Classic. I did enjoy one scene, where the unlikely duo of Montgomery Clift and Lee Marvin as Union skirmishers in Civil War Georgia wound and capture a Confederate Officer, played by...wait for it...DeForest Kelley. Obviously, it was Dr. Leonard McCoy's great great great grandfather! The joke here being that both "Dr. McCoy" and DeForest Kelley were from Georgia. |
