St. Louis Area HeroScapers Group
Calling all Scapers in the St. Louis Metro and surrounding areas! Update: Sadly, Warrior of Eberron has dropped out of Scape. Even though he beat me every time we played, it was still a lot of fun.If anyone in the St. Louis area is interested in participating in Casual Scape Days, please post here or send me a PM. Classic, Marvel, C3G, C3V, playtesting, whatever. Quote:

Battlefields for Casual Scape Day, Nov. 19
If you are planning to bring a map, post it and I'll add it to the list. We'll need 1 map for every 2 people in attendance. Maps don't have to be BoV approved. Sirocco - mac122 Just been submitted for review by the BoV. Looks interesting - and it will give me a chance to try out the Jungle pieces I just got from Rocktroll. If necessary, I can bring another map. ----------------- I will also be bringing some of the Heroes of Fiction customs to try out. Last edited by mac122; November 8th, 2011 at 04:07 PM. |

Tomorrow is D-Day! There's still room for more Scapers! Let us know if you are planning to attend so we can have enough battlefields prepared.
Also, keep an eye out for our next Scape day near the end of December. Once we have the details ironed out, we'll post the info. |

Re: St. Louis Area HeroScapers Group
Great! Hope he can make it!
I'll be bringing a few ~500 point armies. Since this is just a casual play event, just about anything goes - classic, Marvel, C3V, C3G, customs. I may bring a few of the Heroes of Fiction custom designs - been wanting to try out Indiana Jones and the Predator. At a future event, I'll be bringing some Heroes of Star Wars Scape customs. |

Re: St. Louis Area HeroScapers Group
Just got back from our Casual Scape Day. Our numbers were small, but we had fun. Animagination was holding a game demo day as well, so we were able to try out some other games as well as a few rounds of Scape.
In attendance: mac122 Son of Mac Warrior of Eberron Here are some photos: Animagination in West County Center Son of Mac (left) vs. Warrior of Eberron Son of Mac moves a Minuteman Warrior of Eberron advances the Roman Legion Sentinels and Minutemen prepare for battle Marcus prepares to attack a Sentinel Warrior of Eberron's Roman Legion backed by Cyprien, Sonya, and Arkmer was quite effective overall. Cyprien took down Braxas quickly on his way to winning the first match of the day against Son of Mac. Later mac122's Sentinel/Minutemen/Viking Hero/Indiana Jones army avenged his son's defeat. Two Soldiers from the 4th Mass took out Cyprien in the first round. The Sentinels mighty hammers bashed numerous Roman Legionnaires and their leader Marcus while shrugging off most attacks with their strong defense, much to WoE's consternation. While the Sentinels and Minutemen eventually fell, their task was complete. All that remained was a lone Legionnaire, a broken-hearted Sonya, and Arkmer. Indiana Jones (a design from the Heroes of Fiction Group) made his way around the battlefield picking off each of his remaining foes. Son of Mac used the Sentinel...Indiana Jones army against Warrior of Eberron in the last match. WoE had learned his lesson from the last battle and didn't send Cyprien out alone this time. Our time expired and the last match was called, but the WoE was likely on his way to another victory. ------------------ Our next Casual Scape Day is scheduled for Saturday, December 31, 10 am at Animagination. Come join us as we wrap up the year with Heroscape. We'll play until about 1:00 pm, so you'll still have plenty of time for any other New Year's Eve activities. |

It was fun. I actually won a game! In my battle with WoE, the first couple rounds the dice really, really liked me. The withering fire from the 2 Minutemen that took out Cyprien was shocking (especially to WoE) and was probably the defining moment of the match. It also helped greatly that the Sentinel's Shields of Valor worked almost perfectly until late in the second round. Eventually, as usual, the dice evened out and were going WoE's way for a bit, but by that time the damage was done. It was also fun to try out one of the custom designs from Heroes of Fiction, Indiana Jones. His glyph-grabbing boost didn't come into play this game, but Whip Swing and Whip 12 saw some action. Though, if I had known WoE was going to use Cyprien, I would have brought Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Simon Belmont . |
