In most play-tests, the Bishop would have 3-4 devotion markers if he was right in the action. They can go fast when he's paired with the Fusiliers (above). We were developing this Cleric before the Cathar Spearmen came out but the Bishop goes well with them too. |

Re: Northwest Heroscape Customs - new figure 9/19/2013
These customs are well done, thank you for sharing them. I especially would like to show my appreciation for designing the Basic Way side of the cards as well -- it makes these that much complete and fun to play!

Re: Northwest Heroscape Customs - new figure 9/19/2013
Bishop Thaddeus
A solid overall design. I appreciate that you resisted making him a more costly figure; heroes in this price range, especially bonding heroes, are not seen often enough. Blessed Blade is not the most useful power, but it's very fitting and thematic. Sacred Fusiliers Monks with guns is an unusual direction, but that's what I like most about them. Their stats are bad for the price, but bonding is huge for them. Master Woo is key, and Bishop Thaddeus is nice to have. Mix Raelin with them and you have a powerful, though short range pod. Chela Yikes -- Terrifying seems more fitting of a personality than Ferocious. I can certainly see the 200pt price tag, if just for the survivability alone. 6 life, 5 defense, and 2 exoskeleton markers for when he would take multiple wounds in a single attack? On top of that, he reduces enemy figures' Attack. Have you tested this guy against melee armies much? Seems seriously brutal against them, especially mixed with Mezzos. I see what you're going for with Venom Pincers, but it feels overly complicated. It's all just combinations of existing powers, but an awful lot of them; I got lost reading through trying to keep up with all the abilities. The design would be sharper if you simplified it. For example, does it really need to be anti-hero? He had 6 Attack to handle heroes. |

Thanks for the feedback, Scytale.
The Fusiliers started with fewer points, but during 6 months of testing we had to keep bumping their points. They bond with Woo, Ana K (who bonds as a cleric), and 3 squads of Fusiliers make a pretty potent army. |

A unique hero and a common squad have been summoned to aid in the defense of Einar and are now in the OP - Baron Sebastian and the Templars of Ascalon. Any and all feedback is appreciated.
We are going to be making some modifications to Chela based on community input. Thank you! Last edited by Nomad; October 13th, 2013 at 04:12 PM. |

For Shields of Devotion, how about "Order Markers may never be removed from any Templars of Ascalon Army Card by any Special Power on any opponent's Army Card."

Here are some Armies ideas for the Northwest Customs:
# 1: Templars of Ascalon x3 Baron Sebastian Sacred Fusiliers x2 Bishop Thaddeus Theracus = 500 points # 2: Templars of Ascalon x3 Baron Sebastian Count Raymond Cathar Spearmen x2 = 500 points # 3: Templars of Ascalon x3 Baron Sebastian Concan Phantom Knights x2 Marcu Esenwein = 500 points # 4: Baron Sebastian Van Nessing Count Raymond Cathar Spearmen x 3 = 500 points |

This is a good suggestion but wouldn't protect the Templars from the Intercept Order Marker glyph.

Re: Northwest Heroscape Customs - new figures 9/29/2013
I wonder how that first army would play, since the two "packs" (Thadeus and his Fusilliers + Sebastian and his Templars) seem to work well as two separate entities. How could you use their synergies most effectively ? Keeping the bishop close to the templars to get some 5-dice melee attacks could be a great idea...
Anyways, congratulations for these customs, they are incredibly well done and seem professionnal ! I'm really impressed. |

Thanks for the compliments! Nomad is our master card-smith. Quote:
The Forced March is sort of a poor-man's Jandar's Dispatch but when it works its pretty nice. With Sebastian's Forced March - if you win initiative - you can move combinations of the Fusiliers or Templars or even the Bishop since all are Devout. This can help pull back your more vulnerable Range or get an engagement with a Templar to bring them to 4 attack. And bringing up the Bishop into Divine Grimore range works too. |
