When targeting with a ranged attack over a gap in a map (on the edge of a map where the hex edge is concave), can you target over that gap? I've always played that you can't but have recently witnessed people playing that did. I guess I'm leaning towards yes now and not sure why I never allowed it before.

From the Underdark Rulebook

When checking the Range, don’t count extra spaces for any difference in levels. If the distance between your figure and the targeted figure includes an area with no spaces (for example, near the edge of the battlefield), you may still attack it, but you must count the spaces along the battlefield to check the Range.

So, yes, you can target a figure on the other side of the void, but must count range around the edge of the map.
