Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
I have not been convinced yet to change the mini, so no we are not changing it as of right now unless there is a strong push for a change.

Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
I'd certainly be in favor, but I'm also not going to do any of the work, so no one should feel obligated.

Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
Pretty much where I'm at.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
I do like it as an alternative, just not something I'm super invested in at this stage. Brought up before or during FE I might have been more inclined

Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
Well, I think it's important to note the time frame. This set was available for sale only 9 days before this card was finalized. There wasn't even a full list of he set with pics by the release date of the card, which was Feb. 20. So, A) it looks better, and B) doesn't require as much modding, in fact, none is required.

Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
There was no modding just a repaint of a better sculpt, minus the glasses, if you ask me.

Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
Agree to disagree on the better sculpt, but I've made my case so I'll drop it. (However, Hogan doesn't even need paint, which I DO consider modding.)

Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
Minor PSA here, not specifically directed at Spidey or anyone else but I feel this stuff keeps coming up:
Repainting isn't modding. Like not trying to be a jerk or something, but that's just flat out not what the word modding means in the context of miniature wargaming (or really anything I can think of off hand). To mod something requires parts being added/subtracted/created, that kinda deal. It has a fairly universally agreed upon meaning. Like you can look at most any board for customizing minis, action figures, whatevers, and there will be separate categories/labels/etc. for repaints, mods, and scratch building. So you can say 'well I consider repainting to be a big deal' or 'I don't like repainting anymore than modding' or that kinda thing and it gets the point you want to make across, but saying modding when you mean repainting just gets everyone confused and leads to problems. If you really hate distinguishing between the two for whatever reason, say 'customizing' or something. But repainting ≠ modding. Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
Yeah I'm pretty big into miniature painting. Building/assembling/modding is a whole other thing that I've lost pretty much all my love for lately. Very different things. Still both is a decent amount of work for someone not interested in either.

I like to put snazzy little outfits on them.

Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
Fair enough,
@Soundwarp SG-1
. However for a game that has excellently pre-painted miniatures, painting may be more than some people signed up for. Also, I'm pretty sure modding stands for modifying, which painting over a pre-painted miniature qualifies for, to me. But I see your point and agree that it can be confusing to use the terms interchangeably, so I will endeavor to use the correct term.

Re: The Book of Slam Bradley
But it’s really the shoes and accessories
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |
