Midgeboy was asking me about maps that only use one RotV, one Marvel, and 1 Castle set as that is all he has to work with. Anyone want to take on the challenge of designing a new map that only uses those sets? I gave it a try myself this afternoon and this is what I came up with.

*picture doesn't allow you to see everything, just check out the VS file*

Fortress Ruins - VS File

Maybe we can take the best map idea someone can come up with and run it through the design process so he (and anyone else limited on tiles) can have another map testing option.

*updated the VS file with a few small changes. Ended up finding a way to use the Warehouse Ruin base that I had not used before, freeing up some more tiles to be moved around to new places. Added a few new water destinations for water units that can move 5 same level spaces away to a new water tile.

Great idea...
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

This is one I created a few years ago that requires 1 RotV, 1 FotA, 1 MtCB + trees. So it can be made without the trees:


This is the one I entertained @whitestuff with when he visited. I created the map with some homemade trees at the time & always meant to create a PDF for it & add it to my Marvel maps but never got around to it.

Well that sucks, try again. J/K It is a wonderful looking map with minimal resources. I love the idea here as I also do not have a Forest set but FotA and RotV sets are easy to find. I've painted a few extra tiles to give me a lava set but there really isn't an easy way to to get an accurate Forest set proxy.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

Awesome trees. I have used the binder clip trick to make the bridges and use battlements for the walls but trees were always my missing piece. What did use for the tree bases.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

In a few months, you should be able to get lots of trees they sell as Christmas decorations. Dollar Tree has them for $1. (Can you believe it?)

Walmart and Hobby Lobby usually have those trees also.
They do have bases but they are not the best looking.
Dollar Tree normally just has the smaller ones but Walmart carries larger trees, usually in a combo pack.
