Winston tests in! Mazen's saying Winston is pretty balanced. First game was played with D.Va played wrong (Pilot's Play to Win working for the mech), and was still pretty close despite that. Second game seemed like more of a cake walk, but you also have a range heavy army fighting a melee heavy one, but then also there's a 50 point army difference.

R1: Crime Fighters win initiative
OM 1:
Luke Cage bonding moved Wolverine. Punisher moved with Relentless Punishment attacking Wolverine. Wolverine defended the attack, and then Luke Cage moved.

D.VA started, moved up to a tree, followed by Tracer (with a blink), and then a Winston jump pack.

OM 2:
Luke Cage bonding moved Wolverine.

Winston moved the second order marker to Guardian, moving him, and then Tracer, followed by a jump pack.

OM3:

Luke Cage bonding moved Wolverine, followed by Punisher with Relentless Punishment. Punisher used Punishing Shot. Winston takes 3 wounds. Luke Cage then moves, and Guardian reacts with a movement and an auto-wound on Luke Cage. Luke Cage also deals a wound to Guardian.

D.VA mech then moves up and uses Micro Missiles on Luke Cage (dealing 1 damage). D.Va rolls 0 skulls. Tracer also doesn’t deal damage. Winston deals a wound with Jump Pack.

R2: Crime Fighters win initiative

OM 1:
Wolverine attacks Guardian leaving him with 1 health remaining.

D.Va mech deals two wounds on Luke Cage, taking him out with Micro Missiles. D.Va deals another wound to Wolverine. Tracer misses her attack, but Winston wounds Wolverine with Jump Pack

OM 2:
D.Va deals 3 wounds to Wolverine with her double attack and tacks him out. Tracer misses her shot.

OM 3:
Wildcat runs up to D.Va and deals two wounds.

D.Va responds with 6 wounds with her double attack on Wildcat. Wildcat defends Tracer’s attack. Guardian moved up to block the path to Winston.

R3: Overwatch win Initiative

OM 1:
D.Va deals one wound with Micro Missiles. and then 2 wounds with her double attack, taking Wildcat out of the game. Tracer deals 2 wounds to Punisher, bringing him down to 3 life.

OM 2:
D.Va deals 3 wounds to Punisher and takes him out. Tracer deals 1 wound to Dagger.

Dagger missed Lightdagger special both times.

OM 3:
D.Va deals 1 wound to Dagger with her double attack. Tracer misses her attack, and Winston’s jump pack also misses.

Dagger missed Lightdagger special on Winston, but hit D.Va.

R4: Crime Fighters win initiative.

OM 1:
Dagger deals a Lightdagger wound to both Winston and D.Va.

D.Va deals one wound with her missiles, but missed both her attacks. Tracer also dealt no wounds. Winston disengaged from Dagger, and jump-packed in place to end the game with an auto-wound.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Winston's cost seems to be appropriate considering his role as a tanky support figure. He is able to deal damage but also provide crucial support to his teammates with his Jump Pack ability. His synergies with the Overwatch team, especially with Tracer, and his potential to fit into a variety of army builds make him a versatile and valuable addition. In both playtests, Winston proved to be effective at taking and dealing damage, contributing to the overall success of the Overwatch team.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Winston is a strong support figure that fits well within the Overwatch theme. His abilities allow him to engage enemies quickly and provide support to his teammates in various ways. One of his notable synergies is with Tracer, as they can coordinate their movements and attacks effectively, allowing for increased battlefield control and damage output. His durability helps him survive and continue to make an impact throughout the game. Winston's presence on the battlefield is felt, and he contributes to the overall strength of the team he is on. His unique abilities and playstyle make him an interesting and enjoyable figure to use.

Some more info here:
Winston was played as if you can use Jump Pack during Tracer's Cavalry's Here! movement (which currently isn't a thing but I do want to work in 2.0), and during the second game the Fighters fell apart from bad rng and Luke Cage getting too aggressive and falling early.

I think from here I'll wait to see the last set of tests to decide where to go from there. I certainly don't think he's too strong though, but there's a good chance he'll need a slight tweak and another test.

Suggesting a couple of tweaks here. The one to We Are Overwatch was discussed in the 2.0 faction workshop. The other is just a wording change (prevents huge figures from being knocked back).

However if he's feeling weak at 310, how do we feel about either upping his attack on the B side to 7, lowering his points a bit (maybe down to 280?), or possibly adding a Pounding Fists-esque effect to Primal Punch? Leaning towards one of the first two options since they're easier to adjust with, and personally if he's going to be a single attack figure might as well make the flip worth it more.

Instead of his normal move, Winston may move up to 6 spaces with Jump Pack. Death was on a roll until he met 12 Life Winston. That was just too much to overcome with 2 attack dice.

OST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Winston is solid but if you take him out first he will under perform. Great addition to Overwatch.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: He expands the faction and offers OM management. Not too scary offensively but the knock back is handy. Really tough to take out when he flips.

I wouldn't mind seeing Winston get a small bump in offense on his B side (either just 7 attack, or Primal Punch gaining "enemies without SS have -1 Defense" like Pounding Fist users have), only because it's been brought up a couple times that he's not that scary on that side (mentioned by both LP and Tornado). I think the tests show he's fine though, so either way I'd be happy.

I will make the changes to the OP though with the two little changes above (removing the class restriction on the recruitment, and not knocking back huge figures).

He does feel a bit under powered on the flip side but overall balanced.
Could probably swing the -1D vs non SS without a point bump.
Mixing in some low cost Unique Heroes to trigger his flip could be a good play.

I'd be happy with that, -1D vs. non SS to give him a little offensive bump. He's consistently wrecked people in universe when he's started raging (including probably the most physically powerful character in that world, Doomfist).

Happy for a sanity test on that if there's concerns. If not then I think he could start a vote to FE!

1.0 had four Huge figures without Super Strength: Cursed Earth T-Rex, Green Construct (Tactical Bomber), Beast Boy (T-Rex), and Ringo.
