Why would DO cards not count as Army Cards?

Just checked, BftU glossary says DO cards are Army Cards.

Spell Cards definitely have never been Army Cards, I'm 99% certain of that.

I wasn't involved in the creation of the Spell rulebook and I won't be beholden to any suspect choices made in the mechanics there.

I think it's much cleaner to designate these as Army Cards in terms of determining basic things like whether or not they're in your army.

Personally I'd advise just working things like the Spell Cards do, and maybe put a pin in this conversation for later?

I mean why are Spells not in your army? It definitely appears that they are based on my reading of those rules.

I think he's basing it purely off the phrase "Spell Cards, like Army Cards..." which, like, sure, but I would agree trying to distinguish these as not army cards feels like a silly rabbit hole that probably shouldn't have happened with Spell Cards to begin with. Its a card in your army, its an army card. Army Card doesn't necessitate having figures, and unless there's some power that targets army cards specifically out there that would break these, keep them army cards.

Agreed 100%. I'll let Spell Card rules deal with the lack of clarity there, but I'm all about clarity here. These are and should be army cards (like any card in your army should be, IMO).

You can also place OMs on Army Cards. The fact that you probably can’t place OMs on Spell Cards leads me to believe that they’re not Army Cards.

I think we’re fine making that change, but it’s a change to Hasbro rules and we need to recognize/treat it as such. There are also over 400 cards that reference Army Cards, we probably need a perfunctory check to make sure we’re not breaking anything. (I can do that at some point.)

No because that’s explicitly prevented by the DO rules. You’d be able to otherwise most likely.

You referenced the BftU rulebook, though. Are there DO rules in the BftU rulebook preventing it or just ours?
