Tree Town Open V
(Tourney and post Tourney pictures and reports start on page 12)
TREE TOWN OPEN V Place: Waldorf College ( Atrium ) – Forest City, IA Date: October 17, 2009 (NHSD) Sign in: 9:30 – 9:50 am Start 1st round: 10:00 am Entry fee: $10 Format: Swiss Style510-point army ( No Custom or Marvelscape figures )1-hour time limit per round. Maps – 24 hex starting positions on each map .There will be four different maps again one featuring Lava, one Snow, one Road, and the basic MS "( Tree and starting locations as well as any modification to be announced soon ) .Glyphs:Astrid , Brandar , Crevcor , Dagmar , Erland , Gerda , Valda TTO Rule: - Any figure adjacent to a tree may roll an additional defense die when being attacked by a non-adjacent figure. ( what did you expect after all your playing in " The TreeTownOpen ") Tournament Director: Jormi_Boced What You should Bring: Figures (510 pt max), Dice (Attack/Defense/D-20), Turn Markers, Wound Markers. Good Sportsmanship :however right now I would like to anounce a new venue! </p>New Venue - Waldorf College ( Atrium ) The Atrium offers a more upscale setting for our tourney especially since we our now hitting a milestone # Five TTO. The Super Bowl has worked well in the past but the Atrium will give us more room, better lighting, better PA system, mainly just a more upscale setting ( sorry no blacklight carpet - I know we are all going to miss that ) Note: you can bring in your own food and drink in (unlike the Super Bowl ). However I would encourge everyone to buy your food and dirnk in town if you would. There is a Hardees directly across the street and a Subway just across the intersection both a minute or less walk, with ore options are avaliable down the block(s). One downside for a few of you - NO Alcohol ( sorry ). If your coming from I-35 come down highway 9 as you are used to and go past the Super Bowl. Approx 1 mile you will see one of our towns two stop lights. From the stop light - you will ver left up the hill this is Secor Ave and as you go up the hill you can see the court house. If you come into town and hit our other stoplight you can also turn and go up the hill and it will lead you straid to the courthouse and Waldorf. If you should happen to come into town on anyother road (country blacktop) you most likely will also see the courthouse on the top of the hill downtown - Just head to the courthouse and you will find Waldor and the Atruim. Re: Tree Town Open V
MAPS - I'm going to do something a little different ..... instead of having 10 or more of the same lava map, and another 10 or so of the same tundra map. I will again have three or four types of maps ( Jungle, Lava, road, tundra ) however they will all be different maps, all you will be garenteed is that you should play at least once on each type or style of map. I hope this works for everyone... this new twist will help me as far as getting maps made this year, and hopefully add a more challanging dimension to the tourney. I know many of you like to play test on these maps ahead of time. I do think most of the maps used may be ones you have played on here , Austin, Rochester,or GEN-CON so there should not be too many surprizes.
-Edit- I've went thru my garage and saw what I have built.. so here is the list todate: Swamped KillerCrossings Water Under the Bridge Annihilation Alley Ticalla Sunrize Melt-Down Beyond the Grave Hot Heights Slash N Burn Fire Isles Searing Pass Just Passing Through Jungle Swamp Road Sniper Streams Sidewinder Arctic Divide Winter Holdout Thawing Tundra Radiator Spring Toxix Tropic Thunder Twin Towers Number --- Description -------- ---------------------------- 11 --- Annihilation Alley 12 --- Just Passing Through 13 --- Water Under the Bridge 14 --- Killer Crossings 15 --- Jungle Swamp Road 16 --- Twin Towers 17 --- Just Passing Through 18 --- Annihilation Alley 21 --- Hot Heights 22 --- Fire Isles 23 --- Radiator Springs 24 --- Searing Pass 25 --- Jormi Lava creation 1 ? 26 --- Jormi Lava creation 2 ? 27 --- Jormi Lava creation 3 ? 28 --- Hot Heights 31 --- Slash N Burn 32 --- Ticalla Sunrise 33 --- Swamped 34 --- Toxic 35 --- Tropical Thunder 36 --- Slash N Burn 37 --- Ticalla Sunrise 38 --- 41 --- Winter Holdout 42 --- Thawing Tundra 43 --- Artic Divide 44 --- Sidewinder 45 --- Melt-Down 46 --- Beyond the Grave 47 --- Sniper Streams 48 --- Sniper Streams http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...TOVtables1.jpg Who may be coming to Tree Town Open V 1. So does that mean that you won't be posting the maps ahead of time?

Re: Tree Town Open V
Matthias, does it really matter what maps are being played.
I tend to make armies that do well without caring for what maps are being played, my only problem is the whole Cyprien thing... |

Where do we register? I have no babies being born this year on Heroscape Day, so I'm free and ready to 'Scape!

Re: Tree Town Open V
Does this include the rocks on the 4 hex based trees?

Re: Tree Town Open V
I am pretty sure I can be there, too.
I'm excited about the venue change. Is parking at the college an issue at all, Codeman? (We don't enforce parking on the weekends here, but some places do.) |
