I'm appreciating the advice on the draft so far. I do wonder how much I would regret not going if I passed on the opportunity, so that's very much a cogent point. I remember my dad taking me to the airport in the middle of the night after the 49ers won their first super bowl and sitting on his shoulders watching the team stream through the airport. I wouldn't give up that memory, so perhaps I should value more the chance to make another one.

Honestly, why pass on the opportunity? Sounds like it holds a sentimental soft spot and will be a good memory no matter what. I just don't see the negative. If it ever came to Houston, I'd go. Heck, my friends and I almost went up to Dallas last year.

The Ravens lost John Urschel, a fine young LG, a couple of years ago the same way. But he wasn't a big star, so it didn't make headlines. I wish 'em all the best.

Obviously your average fan doesnt know what conversations Luck has had with management or to what extent his injuries are, but without knowing those details the timing seems very poor.

If this was done earlier in the year, then the draft and off-season moves go very differently, and there would be less of a feeling of a lost season. But the franchise passed those stages without, presumably, knowledge of this potentiality. That's what I'm most frustrated about the situation.

That's fair, but I did see an early report from someone - might have been Schefter; I feel like it was someone normally reliable - saying that the organization knew that Luck was considering retirement, even if that info wasn't public knowledge yet.

edit: On a mostly-unrelated note, I do not understand how someone with such a passion and gift for 'Scape, and who lives so close to Indy that he is, apparently, a Colts fan, has never been to GenCon.

I tried to watch thursday. In the second quarter Chicago stopped GB and after the punt the ball was on about the 10. I switched over and watched an episode of Jessica Jones. When I switched it back Chicago was snapping it on 1st down at the 10 and I thought I just have somehow paused the game only to realize it was now in the 3rd quarter...same score and all. Figured I Must not have missed much.
