Age of empires heroscape
Hey, i was wondering if anybody wanted to help me create custom heroscape rules based on the video game age of empires. I like the concept of creating more troops, and conquering the game. The castle set could be used to create buildings. If you have any ideas please post them

Re: Age of empires heroscape
That sounds pretty sweet. I've never actually played the game but the whole idea of building your army and towns as you play sounds awesome.

Re: Age of empires heroscape
unfortunatly i think the only way to have a successful custom (yes i've played age of empires) would be to have at least 3 of every wave 7 castle sets 10 master sets, ok i'm exaturating (sorry don't know how to spell it) but still.

Re: Age of empires heroscape
Sounds fun, I mean you can base it off of any type of game like that. The problem is that you need alot of sets to scomplete the specified buildings and people. But it would be fun none the less.
Also it would be awesome to play Heroscape like that, I think it would be pretty cool to build an army and then destoy a friensd base. DeadEye |

Re: Age of empires heroscape
Idea: a flat board, gaint hex made of 6 24-hexes. Each person starts in a corner. Every round, players roll order markers for building. If you get an X, place a castle wall piece somewhere on the board, to do this, you must have a figure adjacent to where you wish to put it (this represents villagers). You may attack castle walls, which have the same stats as the castle door. Otherwise play as normal.
Or, you could start with no figures on the board, except one 100 point or less hero that you choose prior to start. If you have a lot of commons, you could select a swpawning point somewhere in your corner. After rolling for building castle, roll for units. Any Xs, place a common squad in your spawing point. You can only have 2 kinds of common squads out at a time, and the units on the field cannot exceed 1000 points. If a single unit dies, you may spwan only one part of a squad for the porportion of the squad's points equal to the figure you respawn. A bit like Soulsteader, but mostly original. EDIT: I you're using both sets of rules, start with one common squad on the board along with your hero. Yes, these units count in your overall point total Suggestion: Vipers as villagers. Low cost, high move, and otherwise completely useless except for capturing key points on the field and building castles to block you're opponent's units. Re: Age of empires heroscape
I've given this thought and had no idea that this thread existed.
Here was my ideas. You advance in technologies like increased range, attack, defense, movement, and such. You do this by making a card just like any other Heroscape card. You would place an order maker on it to symbolize that you are "researching". It could take around 6 or so order markers to actually develop the technology, but once you do, all the figures are effected. For instance let's say you wish to increase your range. You may place as many of your order markers you want per round on this technology card. If you do it (set amount of times) then you have successfully researched it and may use it instantly. Then you could have another more advanced technology (LV 2) on the back side of the card. Flip it over and you now the the chance of upgrading again. The problem is that someone might just sit back and play defense while upgrading all of their figures. But the other person could potentially rush you with everything they have before you can actually finish your research. Like I said. I've given it thought, but obviously not enough. |
