Re: The Book of Professor X (Illuminati) (Design)
You are just going to give up the X every time you lose in order to maintain the Cloak right?

Re: The Book of Professor X (Illuminati) (Design)
Massage the Truth was "once per game" in a prior version. Not sure why that changed? Because, yeah, with as much as the faction likes winning initiative, you'd probably just always use the X.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Professor X (Illuminati) (Design)
I was just in support of letting you remove any OM for it during the once per game use. I didn't realize we were discussing dropping that aspect.
If it became an any time thing, I'd want to add an unrevealed OM requirement back to his cloak, so there's some risk to losing initiative still. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Professor X (Illuminati) (Design)
Sounds like a bit too many hoops at that point IMO. The risk would be giving up an OM which most factions want/need, including his own (Mutants and Illuminati). I don't mind just going back to what was originally in the SP though.

Re: The Book of Professor X (Illuminati) (Design)
No preference one way or the other, just know that I'd avoid building armies around him that used the X for something else. Shutting down ranged attacks is a pretty strong power that I wouldn't give up to say, heal an extra W on Wolverine.

Re: The Book of Professor X (Illuminati) (Design)
Yeah, if this take isn’t working for people, I think the original SP take works. I dug how much battlefield control this version offered, but I think what people are saying is valid.

Re: The Book of Professor X (Illuminati) (Design)
Yeah, I think the interplay between never having lost initiative and pretending you haven't when you have gets a little confusing anyway? Like, I think it was something that could be processed a bit more easily when it was a once a game desperation thing, but if you're doing it every round, it gets a bit muddier, IMO.
So I think I favor reverting to the original SP as well. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Professor X (Illuminati) (Design)
SP reverted.
I propose a vote to move to Initial Playtesting. |
